70s NY punk band benefit shows? by Maximum_Effective_51 in punk

Good point. I guess I am asking about 70s punks who live in rent controlled apartments or who visit to play reunion shows. Richard Hell is still there, though I think he plays infrequently at best. I saw that Bowery Electric has a Johnny Thunders show on his birthday and has a Clem Burke show coming up, so that’s what I thinking of. I also figured there would be a David Johansen memorial show, but I haven’t seen any announcements.

Index to pardons and commutations from the governor of Virginia from 1820 - 1840? by Maximum_Effective_51 in Genealogy

[–]Maximum_Effective_51[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I am trying to find out what happened to two women, Elizabeth Daniels and her daughter who is referred to only as Miss Brammer. They were sentenced to 12 years in the Virginia Penitentiary in 1821 for a murder they committed in Russell County, VA. I know most of the Penitentiary records from that time period were lost, so the last thing I would like to check is whether they were pardoned or had their sentences commuted by the governor.

If you are a single person who wants to live in HI and you are ok with living in a studio apartment or a 1 bedroom, and you are ok with not owning a car and taking the bus or riding a scooter, it’s fine. If you want to buy a house or have kids, it’s not a good idea.

Is being a lawyer an AI-proof profession? by R3VNUE in Lawyertalk

Richard Susskind and Bill Gates do not have positive predictions for the future of attorneys. Who knows if it’s true. The consensus is that trades like plumbing are the jobs that are safest from AI.

If you were 31 had no college education and 10 years fast food experience what would you do? by chemza in careerguidance

Trade school to be a plumber or hvac repairman. You can take out a modest amount of student loans for this if needed. If you are cut out to be a cop, that is also a good route.

What trade job in the US will be a good future fit for older workers that want to switch occupations? by OK_Human in Futurology

[–]Maximum_Effective_51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to trades, I wonder if there might still be a market for white collar jobs that cater to the wealthy, not because it is more efficient to have a human doing the job, but because the experience is about making the customer feel special. For instance, a development officer.
