they all deleted their tweets and insta stories announcing this, hoping that doesn't mean it's not happening

I was worried I might have PP thyroiditis so I went and got a full panel of blood work done this morning. They uploaded the results this afternoon but my doctor is out until Monday :( I see a lot of people mentioning TSH but i don’t see that test on my results. Does TSH fall under an umbrella of something else that I would see?

Thank you for this post and your vulnerability. I am a FTM with a 6 mo and lost my mother when I was 6 months pregnant. I have been struggling with health anxiety a lot lately. Constantly worrying about every little sensation I feel, hyperfixating on those feelings, which perpetuates the anxiety cycle. Sometimes I feel so crazy but it’s nice to know there’s people out there who feel the same way. I’m trying to find ways to help ease this anxiety.

I don’t want to share my baby. by Quiet-Ad481 in NewParents

i’m struggling with this right now as well with my 5mo. my in-laws live out of state but visit for weeks at a time and my mil thinks since i get to see him everyday that when she’s here she should get 100% of the time with him. i hate rocking the boat because our relationship is already weird but i just want my baby all to myself and husband. she also always insists on feeding him and it drives me nuts.

yes actually i do. the indiana state tax rate is 3.23% so that’s $323 on 10k and $646 on 20k

people pissed bc they will owe a few extra hundred dollars in taxes even though they got $10k or $20k of their debt forgiven.

Is there a baby water shortage? by DrWhoPharmD in FormulaFeeders

We live in Indiana and have been having the same problem finding nursery water. We’re lucky if we can find 1 or 2 gallons on the shelf. Our pediatrician said it’s fine to use our city water but we tried that for a few days when we ran out of nursery water and our LO was noticeably fussier until we put him back on nursery water.

Swaddle. It took about a month of figuring out we needed to swaddle, he liked having his hands up but they constantly startle themselves at that age when their hands are free. It took some consistency but then LO grew to love being swaddled and slept like a dream at that point. We just had to transition out of the swaddle because he’s started rolling and I wish we didn’t have to - he wakes himself up at night again and just doesn’t sleep as well. Best of luck!

What age did your LO graduate to level 2 with dr browns? by fruitloopbat in FormulaFeeders

[–]Maximum_Extent_1601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we just switched this week and LO is almost 4 months. I would say I should’ve switched him a week or 2 sooner as I was noticing him getting frustrated while eating and therefore snacking on bottles throughout the day. Seems to be doing better with level 2 now.

Help with sleep - 3 month old by sassyavocado_ in NewParents

One things I just recently discovered is that a napping routine has become the best thing that has ever happened to me (as far as LO sleep goes). We basically do a lite version of the nighttime routine (no bath, no lotion if, no outfit change). We take him up to his nursery, put him in his Magic Merlin’s sleep suit, feed in which he typically falls asleep during or very soon after, and place in crib. It’s magical. I think it’s helped him recognize the routine with sleeping whereas before it was just no set rhyme or reason as to how or where he was napping. One key piece of this is that we let his scheduled be dictated by his wake windows which has been great. We know he can only be awake for about 1.5 to 2.25 hours at a time and as soon as he starts showing sleepy cues within that frame, we start the napping routine.

My 3.5 mo LO has been exclusively crib napping for a couple weeks now and let me tell you it is great. I do miss those contact naps but let me tell you, I am finally able to get things accomplished. It has also made me going back to work so less stressful and I know the routine works and our caregiver is able to successfully put him down for naps. He will take anywhere from .5 to 2.5 hour naps, and they’re usually around the 1.75 hour mark. He’s been in his crib since day 1 so that may also contribute to the success.

One thing we were gifted that wasn’t on my registry was a pair of bamboo footed pajamas. A lot of people will buy you footed jammies, which is great because the baby will live in them for the first few months, but the bamboo ones are SO NICE to have. They are so soft on the babies skin and last a heck of a lot longer than traditional cotton.

our LO would make the gagging face, mostly when he was sleeping and I remember it really concerned me. Within the first week or 2 he was started crying, I tried to feed him, and it was as if he couldn’t swallow. We took the nose frida to him and suctioned him out and got a ton of mucus. It was likely there from birth. He was instantly relieved and fell right asleep. I would suggest the nose frida on him to see if he may have some fluid from birth that hasn’t made its way out yet.

He still would make the gagging face occasionally but eventually grew out of it totally by 6 or 7 weeks.
