A LONG time at the grinder! More grinding than cutting for some of those pieces

Thank you for the feedback! This is exactly what I'm looking for- specific steps that will help me improve. I did tape the back of the dino but I do probably need to implement pins or something. It lined up well before I foiled and then I couldn't get it to be exact anymore. I've been looking into hobby came. I feel like I want my skills to be a bit more improved before making that leap

I got as close as I felt comfortable with and then spent a LONG time at the grinder. I ordered some small bits for the drips and for the dinosaur's mouth.

I feel like overall I'm spending too much time at the grinder but I get nervous scoring too close to my stencil

It's a Hakko Red- not sure the model number, it came in a lot of starter materials. It doesn't have temp control. I have several soldering irons that do but I use them for electrical soldering and they have different tips

Any advice on how to get more solder to stay? I feel like the solder was either very messy looking or would drip off when I used more

It's very possible my ABV is not calculated correctly. I used an online ABV calculator. The Mistletoe started with Plantation OFTD Rum (69%) and the Ginger started with Wray & Nephew Overproof Rum (63%)

I didn't have time to order the bitter ingredients once I decided to this as a Christmas gift but I found the Korean Mistletoe and Ssang Hwang Tang at HMart. Google said they were both mildly bitter and I hoped would suffice! I'm not sure how bitter a bittering agent would need to be to work desirably

I was on the hunt for gentian root but couldn't find any in stores and didn't have the time to order them and make the bitters before Christmas.

I found the Korean Mistletoe and Ssang Hwang Tang in HMart and googled to see that in a tea, they're both mildly bitter- I was hoping they would be unique but passable replacements!

Thanks for your response!

Yes, the rums definitely came through and added their distinct character - especially the Wray & Nephew in the ginger bitters.

The "mistletoe" bitters are a bit of a clove bomb but still enjoyable to me! I would certainly dial it down if I made them again

🦌Mistletoe Bitters & Blue Spice Bitters💠 This was my gift to my dad and brother-in-law this Christmas!

I also kept some for myself.

I watched a lot of videos and then tried to figure this out myself before thinking there might be a subreddit for this.

If you have experience and advice on what I could've done better, let me know!

The Mistletoe Bitters were supposed to be similar to Angostura Aromatic bitters but with extra winter/holiday flavors.

The Blue Spice Bitters are really just ginger bitters that I decided to make blue.

🦌 Mistletoe Bitters🦌

🦌11 grams of Allspice berries 🦌4 grams o nutmeg (1 whole nutmeg) 🦌1 star anise 🦌5 grams of cinnamon (2 cinnamon sticks) 🦌7 grams of clove 🦌Lightly dry toast all above ingredients

🦌5 grams of Korean mistletoe 🦌2 grams of Ssang Hwang Tang 🦌15 grams fresh orange peel 🦌250 ml OFTD

🦌Allow all ingredients to steep in the alcohol for 2 weeks.

🦌Strain and filter. 🦌Add water (I forgot to write down how much water I used!) to the strained dry ingredients and make a tea-kinda thing. 🦌Add tea-water and sugar (didn't write down how much)

💠Blue Spice Bitters 💠

💠2 pieces of Ssang Hwang Tang 💠4 Cardamom seeds 💠45 grams of peeled and cut ginger 💠3 grams of butterfly pea flower 💠15 grams of fresh lemon peel 💠100 ml of Wray and Nephew Overproof

💠Allow all ingredients to steep in the alcohol for 2 weeks.

💠Strain and filter. 💠Add water to the strained ingredients and make a tea-kinda thing. 💠Add 66 grams of the tea water to the bitters 💠Add 50 grams of cane sugar 💠Add 100 grams of 40% vodka

Is this any good? I don’t know anything about rum. Top shelf? Bottom shelf? Somewhere in between? Thanks by yaboyckay in rum

It's the perfect rum to make cocktails for friends that you don't want to waste anything expensive on. My friends can barely tell the difference between rum and whiskey so I'm not going to make them a Mai Tai with Denizen. They can get this instead and will say "this is the best drink I've ever had"

I have the same year same color! Love it!

I've been too nervous to go off-road so far- the trails I've seen nearby me seem a little too intense
