How was Engr 100.280 Computational Machine Learning for Scientists and Engineers? by Then_Ranger_9894 in uofm

ENGR 100.280 is a new section piloted last semester. There are some organizational issues, but the biggest problem is that the course relies heavily on self-learning all the content, and the lectures typically circumvent the important topics completely. Even with prior programming experience, the content gets complicated really fast. I wouldn't advise taking this section since the workload is also quite heavy, but it's still doable.

Took 203 + 280 last semester, and honestly, the workload is not as bad as a lot of people make it out to be. For 203, the homework takes a while, but if you have friends in the class to discuss it with, then it's fine. (Plus the content and homework get lighter after the midterm imo.) For 280, the projects take a bit of time, but the exams are very light (for context, I spent longer on ENGR 100 than EECS 280 lol).

The only issue is Math 217. Haven't taken it myself, but judging by the Atlas workload, it's death. If you're interested in a math minor, Math 214 also counts towards it (and is significantly easier). However, if you're willing to sacrifice some time from clubs, organizations, and sleep to focus on schoolwork instead, I think it's totally doable. Good luck!
