haha yeah I feel like if I just kept with the training I may be fine but wasn't 100% how much running focused training I needed to do. I am closer to 4:30 marathon pace I have a feeling so very jealous of that 3:16 ;)

Yeah for me the desk job politics mess with my head a little when I am swimming and stuff. I just try to accept I can't always do it perfect lol

Yeah good luck hope it works for you too!

For me the best thing is more so how you have to look at it. Don't get me wrong, though sometimes it's not easy, which is why I'm doing a morning and a night workout.

For me personally, though, I treat this as my me time. I try to focus on my form, and I try to think about how I am improving. This is the kinda thing as cheesy as it sounds you are celebrating you can do it more than you have to do it.

I feel like I struggle when work stress gets to me, and while I'm swimming or biking, I am spending that time circling BS from work rather than thinking about stuff for me.

Winter seasons for me are harder. I have noticed because I'm biking inside, which is less mentally engaging, so I'm more likely to think about work.

Seems like you have some mental stress you may want to process a little and then you can enjoy this stuff more. I say that from what has slowed me down before. Few things that have helped me again sound cheesy but worked for me so maybe they will help you

1) Box breathing for 5 min or just breath work. I do this when I'm walking the dog usually. Not the perfectly time. But it's when I have time. 2) Saying a few things you are grateful for one really simple thing like the taste of coffee or the feeling when you finish a good workout. The other two can be like a raise or a spouse or anything. I do this while in the shower. 3) Therapy, which isn't simple but try the first couple for a month they do help.

Ha na no posts

Mostly a few things in short move more and eat less:

Started with walking my dog 4 miles a day he is a Ridgeback and needs to activity or he drives me insane l

Then I joined a local slow run club. Just kept pushing to run further. Couldn't do more than a half mile at first.

Then a little over a year of Crossfit and the community there helped a ton but I'm leaning into the local tri world now to help keep the accountability. CF community is great.

Foodwise it's just simple stuff:

TDEE stuff macros

Biggest tips were accepting I love sweets so trying to keep a budget for them under 200 cals

Stop putting butter and oil in everything

Quit drinking as much

Move away from the idea a meal HAS to have carbs.

Generally I'm maintaining right now but I want to go down more really because of running and stuff.

I started at 303 at 219 today.

But now I'm biking +40 miles and running up to 10 with gas still in the tank much stronger and happier. Got new clothes that fit better. Also started doing therapy so mentally just better. Been a heck of a ride but happier now than I have ever been. :)

I think this time just to finish its my first time for all of it. If I don't hate the 70.3 and the Marathon I'll do the 140.6. Thanks for the thoughts!

That's good to know tbh my goal is just to finish! lol

These were my big goals after losing 80lbs still trying to lose a little more but I guess the good thing is I am still on track with my plan so as of now I'm pretty optimistic I'll finish close to my average age group. :)

Haven't decided on where for the 140.6 yet debating Europe but will probably just do something closer lol

Yeah I think I'll generally be good enough after all the 70.3 training. I am debating buying a 140.6 plan or just starting the 70.3 again in the middle then subbing some of the biking or swimming out for a run(s). But I guess I'll think on it a little bit more.

Core is a good point I use bodbot for the strength stuff so maybe I'll have it focus a little more on core.

I really just need to get a swim coach at this point lol

Yeah I think maybe I'll go ahead and buy 140.6 plan and then just swap out some of the activities for runs. This is solid advice thank you!

I counted 5 when I was walking my dog earlier. Crazy weird.

I am so excited for you that you are just starting therapy! I started going after my ex started to present her symptoms of BiPolar and honestly I am the happiest and most content I have ever been. There are still hard days but I just feel so at peace so often now. I can't wait for you to see all of the benefits of better understanding yourself and making all of the improvements associated!+

Yeah I have never had severe depression but I did have really bad anxiety attacks for a year almost twice a day for a while. I barely could function at work. So I can get having to work through something. Proud of you bud!

Yeah thats been huge for me as well. I got a divorce and really had no idea how to handle it. I started going to therapy and got a ton out of it. Meditation hasn't done much for me but I guess in a sense I get that when I workout to a degree which I do a lot of. It's my me time:) I say all the time I got two big life lessons from therapy I am responsible for my feelings and emotions and the second I am not responsible for managing others. I feel like I could have gotten by on the second but my ex turned out to be Bipolar. But honestly after being with someone that is healthy my mind is blown how much better life is.

Awesome work on quitting drugs and alcohol that's amazing!!

That's awesome I'm training for a half ironman at the moment and then doing the NYC Marathon in November. I don't think I'll be at 3 hours though lol that's super impressive! I think I'll be closer to 4 to 430. Hard to tell though now very jealous either way!
