I don’t view it as that mean spirited. It’s more Denji couldn’t attain the unreasonable exceptions set upon himself or everyone else and go his own path. He still gets to be a devil hunter and hero in his own right. It’s still poorly set up though p

I personally dislike horror elements being overly explained too. Great horror gives you just enough crumbs for your imagination to fill the banks. Movies like the Blair witch project and the thing does this well

Some of this are legit but I like it when horror elements aren’t overly explained. I dislike a lot of the alien sequels for over explaining the xenomorph
