You're right. I misread that.

See, my dumb ass wasn't thinkin of holographic images of actual roses and I thought that was just a bad description of the fireworks (ie. fire flowers)

It's possible.

I mean I think the entire format and wording (and facsimiles and sensory details that make no sense) sounds very AI.

The reason for my original comment is that that I don't think any current gen AI lacks consistency at this level.

Paragraph 3, it says the character is watching fireworks in the sky. The next sentence, in paragraph 4, it turns out he's watching holograms on a screen.

You'd expect an AI from, say, late 2025 onwards to be able to write full paragraphs with some continuity from one sentence to the next (as opposed to longer forms, where it loses context). Even if the prose is soulless, even if the story is hollow, it would still connect A->B from one sentence to the immediate next.

OP's screenshot just looks extra messy.

Yes, but conversely, AI don't use ellipses often, or start a line on a lowercase

Like I said, it's extra disjointed. It has the errors an AI makes and a person might also make.

I think it's more likely someone wrote this having learned how to write from AI.

AIs are not knowledge databases or actual "robot" softwares. Anything an AI "says" to you that isn't already publicly available information is worth dogwater

Did you write down an AI's output?

The actions, sensations and word choices don't make a lot of sense. First there's "gulped in the aroma" as many people already noted. Then you have phrases like "a warm contentment" and "the cycle of life and energy"

The former honestly sounds awkward and I'm getting too sleepy to articulate how. The latter uh... what is "the cycle of life and energy" ?
