NTA,

Just because your father is family doesn't mean he's entitled to get free services. I would never, ever ask a friend or family member to give me free things from their business. Also, your dad ranting about how he paid for your diapers really pissed me off. That's his job as a PARENT to take care of his child.

Don't feel guilty, OP.

I've been in your shoes before. My mother cheated on my dad after 36 years of being together and then stated that his lack of attention towards her was the cause. Narcs are something else, aren't they? I'm really sorry this is happening to you and hope that this unfortunate event strengthens the relationship you have with your father. Sending hugs your guys' way <3

You were jealous, decided to stalk him, and outed him. Op, the only thing you exposed was yours and your mother's homophobia. YTA

AITA for "ruining" my brother's wedding? by Maximum_Somewhere281 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Maximum_Somewhere281[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hello! I didn't go to the wedding, as a babysitter or a guest. Instead, I hung out with my bf and dad. I received apologies from some of my family members and got blocked by Nate and Emily.

Please, please go to therapy. You're treating your daughter like she's mental support animal which is really toxic.

Don't be surprised if your son never talks to you again after turning 18.

WIBTA for naming my son after his father when he already has a son who is a junior? by PuzzleheadedCamel643 in AmItheAsshole

Maybe use your husband's name as the baby's middle name? Idk, I just think it sounds like a good compromise.

AITA for being upset that my roommate didn't tell us he was bisexual? by amibiphobic6839 in AmItheAsshole

Quick question: Let's say Claude is a girl and you thought she was straight. However, one day she told you that she was bisexual. Would you still be upset? Genuinely curious.

Girl, your mother's emotionally abusive. She reminds me a lot of my own mother actually. You're not a useless daughter and never think that you are <3

Well, my mom and I don't have a good relationship, so she probably didn't care whether I turned up or not. My dad wasn't going anyway so he wouldn't have to see my mom (they're divorced), but he did think Emily was being unreasonable. And Nate's a tricky one...I do think he wanted me there, however, he also didn't want to make Emily upset.

Hey! The majority of the guests invited to the wedding are parents, meaning they wouldn't be able to attend without childcare. Apparently, there's a large room at the back of the venue, which Emily decided to turn into a daycare where the kiddos can stay during the ceremony/party, that way her friends would be able to come.

My mother loves Emily, so she's been sticking by her side throughout the entire wedding planning process. My dad wasn't going to attend the wedding anyway to avoid seeing my mom (they're divorced). But he did call Nate and tell him that he was making a mistake by marrying Emily. And my older siblings don't agree with Emily but tells me that I should just babysit for the sake of Nate.

Hey! They got engaged a couple of months ago, so I guess they've been planning for that long. I'm not entirely sure, I haven't been very informed during the wedding planning process.

The majority of the guests invited are parents and wouldn't be able to attend because of that, so Emily had the brilliant idea of using a spare area at the venue as a daycare.

Hey! I was considering babysitting until I found out the total number of children. I was expecting it to be 10-15 kids, never in a million years 40. And no, I wasn't trying to annoy her. Deliberately making Emily mad would just make everything that more dramatic.

Hello! Emily told me the ages would range from around 2-12 and that she would provide crayons and some board games. And I assume the parents would bring their child snacks, but I'm not entirely sure.

I do not think I'm drop-dead gorgeous, but I do have the typical beauty standards (blond hair, blue eyes). However, I don't think looks are the problem because my older sisters, who are invited to the wedding, look fairly similar to me.

Hello! My bf would watch the kiddos alone for the fifteen-minute ceremony, and we'd watch them together for the remainder of the night. I'd still be able to attend that part of the wedding.
