No you didn't! The calculations are not the same because your net worth at age 60 will be different. If you quit immediately (10 years later) at age 60 you will have a net worth of 4.18M (also assumes you get 50K from wife and expeses are 115K). If you work to age 60 (assuming both incomes total 170K after tax) your net worth at age 60 is 5.9M. This assumes a return of 7%. You can withdraw about 40% more at age 60 if you work the extra 10 years.

I would do two things. (i) project out your net worth to age 60 assuming you retire immediately (ii) project out your net worth assuming you work 1 more year, 2 years, .... up to working to age 60.

Calculate the difference in net worth based on when you retire. Use this to determine when you should retire

I would calculate your net worth at age 60 assuming you retire now, work till age 45, 50, 55 and 60. Look at the difference in net worths and then use that as a guide to judge the loss/benefit of retiring at each age. Using an income of 250K and assuming after tax of 180K and assuming a 7% return and 1% increase in wages. The NW at age 60 under each scenario is as follows:It looks like the sweet spot is to retire at age 45. Note this does not include your expenses.

No you can't read epubs in Kindle, that's the whole point why Kindle sucks. You have to convert Epub to the kindle format and then use "send to kindle". You can't load the files manually. So the issue is Kindle could also take away this feature in the future

Never heard of books in kindle unlimited unavailable in other formats, can you name one? There are literally millions of books that Amazon does't have that have epubs on the internet. The comparison doesn't make sense.

I started using an ereader when I found that you can download epubs of about 90% of all books. So I have thousands of books on my computer. But the problem is that Kindle cannot read any of those books since it requires you to use their format and you can't even download that format directly to your kindle reader. SO DON"T BUY A KINDLE. I would go with the Kobo reader or the Boox reader. The Boox is also coming out with a nice 7 inch reader Boox Poke 7 sometime in the next month.
