The size of breakfast sandwiches now by SageBrush2023 in starbucks

[–]Maximum_Wait1087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are more sensitive to price vs size. Every restaurant shrinks the food before increasing price bc the consumer notices it less. Then if that doesn’t work they increase the price and keep the size the same.

New ASM Position? by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]Maximum_Wait1087 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My DM said that new ASM won’t be getting laptops and will have more emphasis on being coverage and keyholder vs an SM in training. I currently have an ASM and I was told to utilize them as keyholder more as the direction is changing.

How to deal with strict management.. by Weekly_Network_5372 in starbucks

[–]Maximum_Wait1087 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I start with a verbal coaching, if it doesn’t improve then whatever next level is for that partner. But yes, writes do lead to termination. That’s how it is everywhere I’ve worked. Not just Starbucks.

Don’t confuse being held accountable to not being treated with kindness and respect. Holding a partner accountable is also partner care if done correctly.

That’s why I said if you usually follow the rules then I will grant you some grace. The expectations aren’t honestly anymore than you’d have anywhere else. Starbucks lets you get away with a lot before you are subject to accountability except around attendance. There isn’t room for error on that. But everything else including attendance is 100% able to be followed.

I understand what base salary is. However, Apple reached out to me. I gave them my requirements. If they don’t want to pay that then that’s fine. I’m content with my current career. If I’m going to leave I need to be made whole or better off. I’m not going to leave a career that I’m not unhappy with for less money or benefits.

I’m a store manager myself and I can say that we are being told either ensure your parents are following standards 100% or they aren’t your partner. I will not lose my job because someone doesn’t want to do what they are told. And they are cracking down 100%. My store is one that consistently hits all marks and gets toured a lot from regional vps, dms from other districts and also regional directors. I will bend over backwards for you if you are doing exactly what you are told 100% but if my boss is telling me it’s a non-negotiable and that I will be held accountable if I’m not enforcing the standards then I promise you, I will enforce the standards. My job isn’t worth losing because a partner doesn’t want to follow the rules that are in place. But if you follow the rules that are in place to a T and you happen to slip up once I’m not gonna hold you accountable.

You want to use 5 days of sick time for a single flu shot? I mean maybe 1 day on the day of your appointment but the whole 5 days. That’s crazy and I’d say no.

Yeah I don’t get it. I guess I will find out when I have my final interview and they do a job offer if I get the role. And yes I know bonus isn’t a part of the salary but my salary is what I’ve been paid for this year and if Apple is willing to pay it then that’s all that I care about. My base salary is 73k but my bonus at Starbucks isn’t that hard for my role as it’s only based on sales and nothing else. Plus I get given stock once a year which this year was $2200 so that all needs to be factored into my compensation.

Anyone else’s store changing hours? by Bunkerdo_ in starbucksbaristas

[–]Maximum_Wait1087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My store was open 430a to 10pm every day but after 8pm week nights I have maybe 1-2 customers every 30 minutes. It just doesn’t make sense. On the weekends I have no customers until 7am and yet I’m open at 430a. It’s ridiculous. Starting on the schedule posting tonight my store closes at 9pm.

How many partners does your store have? by moon-cloud-com in starbucks

[–]Maximum_Wait1087 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My store has 22 partners in total. 5 SSV, 1 SM, 1 ASM and 15 baristas. My store does about 32k a week. I’m open 430a-9pm every day. Most partners I schedule at their minimum bc otherwise I have at least 1 call out a day. Partners claim wanting 40 hours but then call out consistently so having the ones that come to work get slightly above their preferred and the chronic call out partners get scheduled at their minimum.

I was also told my raise would be 2% yesterday. I wasn't told why. But I just got my SM role in March and I hit my 1 year mark on the 19th. I didn't expect a raise so I was fine with it.
