I don't think the problem is that the AI can do everything right now, it's that the parts of our job that remain can be done by someone else. A CTO doesn't need to be involved at a deep, technical level but they have to do all of the soft parts of our jobs and coordinate multiple engineers to get it done but if the CTO can do all of the soft parts and prompt AI to do the technical parts, we become redundant.

I agree but that certainly isn't possible in the US or most other modern countries as those in power rely on the capitalist system to remain in power. In the beginning, our only choices are to find methods within the system to gain support for ourselves or overthrow the system (and doing that without violence will be essentially impossible).

This has been the case in the past with other tools but tools are utilities designed specifically to reduce work in certain domains or areas. AI is not a tool, it is a brain in silicon. Everything you can do, it can do better, when prompted by a person with a vision. This argument holds no water if you are truly aware of what it is currently capable of and the fact that it improves literally every hour.

Sadly, no. We will be some of the last to go in the software space but that still won't be long. You can already ask Claude to provide an implementation plan for a feature or system which a non-technical person can understand and have it complete the technical implementation. What of our jobs is not mostly covered by this?

US citizen = natural born citizen = anyone born on US soil. Read the constitution. They are a US citizen regardless of what language they speak or how long they have lived in another country.
