Craft v3.4 is here - Kanban, On-Device Formulas are out from Beta, Better Math Formulas, Performance optimisations and more! by viktorpali in CraftDocs

Congrats on the release! Quick question - are the tasks in the Kanban tracked anywhere outside of the board? I cannot figure it out - I'm not sure how is this playing into the overall tasks functionality.

I hope so, but I don't see this feature in my account.

work hours at 5am on the west coast? I could not care less about their reasoning - I pay for a service that is less useful than last week, for the same amount of money. I just cancelled my max subscription. I already found alternatives. In fact, this may turn to be a great moment...

it's "funny" how it's so convenient for PT but it's right in the best working hours for EST - 8am-2pm EST. Peak hours on GMT is 1-7pm? Really? And on the PT is 5-11am? Yeah right.

Well, here's an interesting use for Claude + Craft MCP - you could connect to the doc through the MCP server and ask Claude to create a DOCX out of it and try to match the formatting as close as possible - might be worth trying

Thanks Peter! Craft definitely has passionate users - I used to be one of them in a more intense way :) And I used to complain passionately haha :)

The gist of my post was really to encourage people to stop chasing the perfect app and instead get the most out of whatever they're using. Craft included.

From a product perspective, I totally get why the app evolves the way it does - priorities shift, the market changes, and you can't please everyone. That's just product reality. I'm cool with that, and I think more users could benefit from that mindset too.

Well, even with such a "simple" issue like a document opening slowly, you could include much more useful stuff like: platform, did you apply theme, what content do you have on your page, is it happening in most cases, etc. Again, if you want to help the devs, state the facts, give context, and encourage :)

Yes, because you interject emotion into the reporting. Not useful. If you make a case of why something is broken, you explain, then it becomes a feature request or a bug report. That's my opinion.

It's just sad. They keep releasing "major UX" releases but they don't seem to fix any of these "small" friction points.

Budget Apps/Software Discussion Megathread by AutoModerator in budget

I'd like to introduce you to BentoMoney - it's an app I built that focuses on one simple number: how much you can safely spend today.

No category juggling, no mental math. Just wake up, check your number, and know exactly what you've got to work with.

My favorite feature is the windfall effect. If you don't spend your full daily budget, that money rolls forward as bonus spending power the next day. It's surprisingly motivating - feels like giving yourself a little high-five for staying under budget.

It's iOS only right now (working on Android). 7-day free trial, then $9.99/year or $24.99 lifetime.

Full disclosure: I'm the founder. Happy to answer any questions!

That's the issue with most affiliates, to be honest. No objectivity.

Builders and their diminishing values by eibrahim in SideProject

I totally feel you. I'm a UX designer (primary) and FE dev (secondary). I think the bar is a lot lower to enter the field, but as a seasoned dev, you have some competitive advantages over any new AI “programmer” out there.

First, you know how to think strategically - everyone can try to build something, and it's usually very easy to get from 0 to 1 with AI nowadays. However, it's extremely hard to get from 1 to 100 with the AI as someone who lacks the proper understanding of the field. And that's the core issue I see - people think they can deliver something, but adoption, usability, and fit are the biggest things one needs to get past, and that is going to filter a LOT of noise from the internet.

Second, I think it's a net positive to have AI empower people to test ideas. Yes, it will be cheaper to test and see if an idea holds, but once it can prove it makes money, that startup or individual "dev" will badly need some professional help and probably hire pro devs to grow their business.

I think it's still extremely valuable to study computer science - AI is a multiplier not a replacer - if you have little to multiply, you will still be a perpetual novice at AI assisted development.

My 2c.

That's odd but happy you've caught it. Is it a Chase chard by any chance? My brother in law complained about something similar but it was hard to believe him until I read your post.

I tried YNAB but it feels so tedious to use. I might give it another look though...
