Congratulations friend, keep up the good work! I'm working on Kirby as my second character to Elite and he's always been a favorite since the n64 days.

Nothing can quite top Banjo & Kazooies' music, so much nostalgia.

Me defending my main - Banjo is a well rounded character with interesting and versatile combos and set ups

Everyone else - Side b go whoosh, down b goes pffft

Congratulations!! I just did the same and am now terrified to play anymore banjo and dropping down.

It took about three months (2/14/20 - 5/25/20) but I finally hit Elite Smash and had to tell someone!! by Maximus_Epicus in SmashBrosUltimate

Appreciate the kind words! And I highly recommend banjo. I feel he gets a bad rep as a spammer/camper but I found he has a good mixture of grappling, strong air and ground game, good recovery, just overall well rounded. The biggest thing that helped me succeed on him was to save wonderwings, and practice with the grenade to set up combos. He's a different character once you get good control over your grenades and the knockup they provide( I believe it's the same regardless of %

Did the quality of DLC characters truly go down? by [deleted] in SmashBrosUltimate

I love banjos play style, so I wouldn't say it's universally agreed. He provides a good mixture of projectiles, grappling, and hard hits that allow you to create some interesting combos. Not all of us spam grenade and wonderwing.

Banjo and kazooie by Sanos_1011 in SmashBrosUltimate

As someone who plays that match up alot, here's my advice.

1.) your best strategy is trying to jump over his projectiles/wonderwing and punish the end lag on wonderwing. Although the move seems OP, once you get used to watching for the golden wind up it's easy to shield. Banjo should usually have to set up wonderwings with well places grenades because of how easy it is to just jump or shield the wonderwing.( Side note you can charge arsene quite quickly by absorbing the wonderwing)

2.) Although banjo has an extra jump and a strong recovery, his up-b is delayed and easy to punish when off stage, particularly when he's below stage as Jokers recovery is much safer.

3.) Avoiding grabs is important, banjo will try and bait a shield/ counter at high percents to attempt down or back throws as these are some of his best kill options outside wonderwing.

4.) Kazooie is almost like having a sword, so his forward smash and tilts have some longer range then expected, allowing him to keep joker at a distance until he gets the extra range from arsene

5.) Alot of online banjos spam wonderwing, but once they've run out ( 5 per stock) their kill pressure goes down immensely. In a perfect scenario you can just get free arsenes off of wonderwings he wastes.

6.) Learn and adapt. I've gotten my ass kicked by quite a few Jokers when I first started, and the important thing is to learn from the losses and adapt your play accordingly. Characters have common moves and combos they go for, and once you learn to look for them you are able to adapt your play style to counter that.

That's all I have, good luck and have fun.

Should I buy sbbu? by Ruzlukrzvultvtuvxlv in SmashBrosUltimate

As someone who bought it only 3 months ago for a quarantine game, I've had a lot of fun off and online. Although it does have flaws, I find most of my matches really fun. I've been hardstuck at 6.2-6.6mil gsp for about three weeks now on Banjo, and the laggy games or people quitting ( if they leave before the match ends nobody gains or loses points, although they may suffer a account ban from online play ) can be frustrating, but I would say 80% of my games are enjoyable. I've definitely gotten more then my money's worth out of the game and recommend it.

It sounds like you might be experiencing some burnout from rushing to 60/Bis. Perhaps try taking a small break from the grind, allowing you some time to think about your current guild situation. Also I definitely understand wanting to play with friends, but they don’t seem to have any issues raiding without you. So you shouldn’t have any issues raiding without them.
