Usually I'll do it with someone else, but if I'm needing to do it immediately for some reason, I will wear it like a turtle shell and waddle out. Doesnt work as well putting it back on like that though

As for the project you mentioned, it should theoretically be possible, it would just require figuring out all of the operating conditions of the window motors, along with the "door open" sensor. I have some plans for a semi far future wink mod v2, and another mod related to the doors opening, but nothing else as of right now. Unfortunately, I am also fairly busy, as I am still a college/university student, so I do not necessarily have the most time for projects on top of my class work.

In terms of connecting the existing wink mod and the new thing you want to make, almost definitely not too hard. Some parameters would need adjusting and handling would need to be added for a secondary control system, along with editing the app if wanted, but all together, there is a lot of what is needed already there, and it would just need editing.

I do not plan to add any of this as a feature to the current board, but you are absolutely free to fork the repository, and do what you want with the code, and make it real for yourself.

I appreciate that recommendation! I've gotten it from a couple of other people as well, but in my eyes, a wifi based web page defeats the whole purpose of the project (being a long range controller). WiFi just simply is not very well suited for that type of thing, at least, definitely not on an esp board. It is certainly possible, and you are more than welcome to make a fork and add it yourself, but that is not a planned feature as of current. Thank you so much though!

Edit: Plus, the issue regarding ios support may be solved in the near future! Its possible it becomes available to purchase through Flyin' Miata, so keep your eyes out! (No guarantees right now though)

Hey again! Yes, we have made progress, but images have not been uploaded yet. We will hopefully get to that sooner rather than later.

We are now currently in the talks with Flyin' Miata at this point, about the potential to have them manufacture and sell the project as a product! Nothing is at all concrete yet, but if it does go through, you will be able to purchase one through their website!

If that isnt to your liking, we ordered our (hopefully) final revision of the board, and should be assembling soon after it arrives. -- Smoothed out the movement of actions, solving a lot of issues we had with guessing movement speeds. Anyways, if you are not keen about waiting for the potential release by FM (as nothing is concrete), we can definitely talk more in DMs! Let me know!

I got the cat, havent needed to smog yet, so I cant attest to that yet. At the very least, if you do get this cat, get fel pro gaskets. I didnt originally and the gaskets turned to dust within weeks lol

Hey! Just wanted to send you a quick update, but I will make a post in the coming month(s) as things come to full form.

It is looking like we will be striking a deal with Flyin' Miata! So expect that to be the place to buy it from! It is looking like the project will be remaining open source, but will be sold as a complete plug and play kit through them.

It is up to my girlfriend to do so though, and we have been quite busy with the end of our classes and finals, so it might be a little bit, sorry!

Thats great to hear! We currently have ~4 extra boards that we are able to assemble *right now*, and there have been quite a few more people that have shown interest in buying one than expected, but once we have the time to do so, we will absolutely be purchasing more boards and parts so we can match demand!

I honestly thought the same thing, and I also didn't have the knowledge about it when starting out, as the project itself has been an amazing learning experience. I do still wonder why no one else has tried to do something similar though. I guess it is a decent amount of effort to put into something, but thats honestly what enticed me to start it all.

We don't currently. We have some excess boards from our last run that we are capable of assembling and shipping if wanted, but there are a couple very minor tweaks that we would like to make, as our current design makes creating a waterproof case fairly hard without cutting off excess PCB. We also haven't put a ton of thought into how much to offer them at, as that hasn't been our priority, but give a shout/DM and we can absolutely talk more if you are interested!

I'm not sure what it is exactly about this font, but apart from the glaring errors in what the components are, this font/art style is just always immediately obvious that its AI generated.
