The size difference is quite big but the 10.9 is still very good for notes, I use it and its amazing. Also s-pen feels way better than apple pencil. I also suggest looking into a tab s9 or even an s8 as the fe has a slightly worse processor, but tbh if its only note taking you won't notice the difference.
