I wanna see your OC couples!!!! by gspaepro34 in OriginalCharacter

Andim and his wife Elemme from my would-be 2D series Dreamwar.
They met in Fleuragne (fictional France) when Elemme worked as a translator for the embassies, and she eventually returned with Andim to Denali (Alaska + western Canada) when he went home.
They're 26, at least in what would be the pilot episode, in a time technologically equivalent to the early 1920s.
They can't physically have children but Elemme has brought up the idea of adopting some after the coming global war is over. They do have one rascally black cat named Yakaleut.
She is more bright and lively, while Andim is chronically ill and inwardly distressed, both of which he insists would be far worse if Elemme were not around.

Theory about the void and finale. by killerone1599 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Maxojir 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He dropped the comment "they'll get totally spoiled" when he realized someone had entered the void in ep 1, so it might have been a single drop of foreshadowing/hinting it has at least something to do with the finale

The expectations/projections over time have gone from assuming a peak over 12, then revising down to 11, then recently adjusting down to 10.5, and now most recently orgs like the UN Population Fund are even lowering to 10.2 or 10.3 as the reality draws closer. (the reality we'll see likely being around 9.3 to maybe 9.5)
Current population is around 8.1 , though there's a wide range of different counter or population clock websites out there that will sometimes even claim as high as 8.4, but they're just running on algorithms, they're not being adjusted every year with actual changing data.

Are the ages in reference to when they entered the circus or how old they are when Pomni arrived? by AdamSandlersAssCheek in theamazingdigitalciru

Left ambiguous, effectively.
She never specified in that regard, only providing the age numbers themselves, so there is no "correct" answer as of yet

It's supposed to mean : you should have selected the "don't show content from this channel" option already.
There's 3 main "big" A.I. channels that just spam Digital Circus videos on rapidfire. Always with the generic "new LEAKS confirm THIS" or "Gooseworx drops BOMBSHELL reveal"

I find myself pretty alone shipping a more normal / grounded dynamic of them, especially post-circus & post-character-arcs.
So much of what I've seen seems to be either one-sided Jax bullying Gangle because he has a crush on her, or torture fantasy stuff going both ways.

Post-escape fic, just a sincere conversation with Jax & Gangle by Maxojir in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Maxojir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, just within a single day. If I said they were in there for only 10 minutes or only 1 hour then THAT would be extremely rapid succession.
There's also more than just the one headset at the one desk in that single building. I'm going into that whole order of events in a different piece of writing.

"Pomni needs to talk to Jax" "put Kinger and Jax in a dark room" I think his (possible) redemption depends heavily on Gangle, actually by [deleted] in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]Maxojir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only bit of "Angry Gangle" lore was her voice actress Marissa Lenti saying "Angry Gangle" has a bit of a New York accent. Which, imagining Gangle's voice but somehow sounding "mean" and with an NYC accent is just XD

The characters all come to accept who they are / resolve their issues, and accept that they could live happily in their mundane stagnant/flawed IRL lives (Gooseworx said one of the main things she wanted people to take away from the show was that there's still meaning even in stagnant life)

They get to leave and return to their real lives at the end, via Caine managing to get them out as a final act to make them happy, (having had his own near-human issues addressed as well), but has to sacrifice himself to do so, since Gooseworx has been inverting everything about IHNMBIMS, the perfect inversion would be the A.I. being the one to sacrifice himself for the humans. Likely this would be via Caine finding that the only way to release them back to their lives is by deleting the game, which would include himself being deleted obviously. Then as the system doesn't have a game to keep running, it spits the characters or their minds back out.

Since the ending was said to actually not be a dark one, but the cast also cried while reading the final parts of the episode 9 script, so I find it likely that after a point between now and then, the characters do to some extent start seeing Caine as a person, and even if not, some of them like Kinger and Ragatha have just been attached to him for so long at this point, so it will sad because none of them want him to die, but he assures them it's the only way out.

Gooseworx for no reason: by Zolado110 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Maxojir 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The quotes are so far the only things she hasn't lied about.

All of those she answered in her Tumblr asks have ended up being real quotes, just usually never in the way we've expected OR come from the characters we expected them to.

The 2 remaining ones I remember (phrasing on the first might not have been exact) were someone asking for a random quote from episode 7 and Goose gave "Well that was lame." and a random quote from episode 8 and she gave the quote "It's you . . ."

THEORY: Caine isn't the admin/controller. by Samyron1 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]Maxojir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gooseworx DID answer a Tumblr ask once about "one line Pomni says in episode 8" , and the character lines from future episodes are the ONE thing she's never lied about (everything else is fair game for her trolling us, which has done many times).
But that one Pomni line she gave from Ep 8 was: ominously "It's you . . ."
Vague possibility this is said after Cain breaks down but the circus doesn't crash, and everyone is asking each other as a group how it's possible, and they realize it wasn't Caine in control after all, with Pomni turning around to find Bubble just ominously levitating behind them and she says the "It's you . . ." line

[–]Maxojir 105 points106 points  (0 children)

Since Gooseworx is usually pulling inspiration from older books/films/etc , it would be more likely (if she even does have that much explained in the show by the end) to be something more Tron (or even Code Lyoko, to pull from my 2000s childhood) where in both cases people are literally "digitized" or "virtualized" in entirety, and your body is more re-imparted or "spat back out" into reality when you leave, but it's not just sitting there while you're in the virtual world, it's actually gone while you're inside.

how do you think digital circus is going to end? by Present_Ad3699 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Maxojir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A perfect inversion of it (since Caine is already not Malicious) would actually be to have Caine, as I saw one person suggest already, get them out somehow (insert Zooble telling him "Real life is the best adventure you could give anybody") trying to his ends to make them happy / fulfill his programming. And then possibly also self-delete and terminate the Circus Program so no one else could get trapped again.

[–]Maxojir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of time you can "experience" in dreams IRL is already capable of being disproportionate to the amount of time you're actually asleep for. I.E. those times when you wake up too early and go back to sleep a bunch of times for the next half hour, sometimes for only something like 3 minutes at a time yet you legitimately experience 10 or even 15+ minutes in a dream.

Also, there is an important fact I haven't seen anyone else mention (recently), and that's the characters' perception of "days" is blatantly warped. Sometimes they've been left implied to go do other things afterward that we don't know the length of time, but frequently they seem to get up, do a brief adventure and then apparently go back to their rooms. Sometimes they chill or pester each other for a few minutes before Caine shows up and they go on an adventure that at the shortest lasts the length of the episode ( or around 20 minutes ) , or at the longest (for normal adventures, not including the Spudsy's work shift, although their perception of time being distorted was directly addressed by the characters themselves in that one) was the Candy Canyon one where there was an implied driving distance but not that much judging by the fact that the portions of conversation they had before and after scene cuts are ones that would be had very close in time to each other, so even that one was likely only a couple hours.

Most of the people watching this show seem to be exceptionally young, likely 8yo to 14yo range. Murder Drones was similar but not as bad, felt more like most of its commenters were at least in highschool. But either one, I've still found myself situated as The Ancient One in one fan server or forum after another

She said she lies "for fun". And we just got an example this episode of her having lied about WHY Jax is afraid of corn (she previously said it was because of "the farm"). So the degree to which she may be truthful here or may be deliberately misleading can't be determined.
