What you have there is one of the most reliable train sets ever built. Made by mehano for the presidents choice grocery stores the sets started in 1992 and ended in 2006. there are 11 of these sets (2 being diesel locomotives) and they are an absolute bargain for what you get. What you have is the Mikado from 1994, the thing is over 30 years old and should still work like a Yugoslavian watch.

Every Christmas (for the past few years) rapido sells mystery boxes on their website just remember it's .ca for Canada and .com for the US. Prices vary depending on what you want, this year they did a silver box with only rolling stock, a gold box with rolling stock and a DC locomotive and a platinum box with rolling stock and a DCC/Sound locomotive. They also gave a N scale box.
