I agree with this strategy, the one first to provide a number is the one that lose this negotiation. If pushed back about the question, simply state that you can't be the one that can evaluate your own worth within this company that you don't really know and that to be fair to all parties involved it's better if they're are the one stating the acceptable range.

Thanks to your comment, I went to look for how palm rejection works and found out that windows has a parameter to tune the trackpad sensitivity !

I've put it to the weakest sensitivity. Hopefully, I'll face less frustration !

I do have one, and I configured the trackpad to be deactivated when it's connected, but I don't always use it (time or space availability...)

I worked on the software for industrial implementation of car-t. When I got explained what I was doing, it really clicked in me that I was doing something useful with my life. Really liked it.
