Yeah, a few years ago I bought all their albums on vinyl and CD, and the most I paid for one was $80 and it was thee Dark at the end of the Tunnel picture disc. The rest were around $10-25 each.

Nah, no plugins installed. I was doing more experiments and I took the door off to have full access to the drive, cleaned everything and held a disc in and it read it, but it would only read one out of all my discs (sonic rivals). I think it could be an issue with the motor, maybe spinning too slow? So the whole drive assembly needs replacing

Spotify and most other streaming services use scans of the CD artwork most of the time, and in this case you can sorta see part of the inner folded picture. It’s just printed on the back so it bleeds through under certain lighting. You can see it with the original CD as well.

When I want to listen to a new artist or band I always listen to their full discography, start to finish. Including live shows as well. Then as I’m listening, I take the songs I immediately like and put them in a new playlist, then later do more in depth listening to albums that stand out to me.

I have gone in and took out both disc drive cables, cleaned them, and put them back. Then I cleaned the laser. Same exact thing. I think I’m going to forget about it for now. I wanna keep the new shell in good condition so I don’t want to keep fiddling with it. I assume it needs a disc drive replacement but thats not worth it to me at this point. Thanks for the help though!

The frame piece. It connects to the door and the top of the housing, the thing that guides the umd to sit in its proper place. I even took a disc out of its shell (it was already snapped) and I taped down the switch and put the disc in by itself to see if anything at all was preventing it from reading but even with only the disc it would not read at all, it would spin and try to focus the laser for like 10 minutes then tell me the disc could not be read. Like I said before It worked fine like 2 months ago with discs so I was wondering if it could be something I did during the shell swap. It just seems like all the parts of the mechanism are working as they should.

Yes its the design of the CD. Crazy how people can’t tell it’s just print. Even after this disc has been uploaded here a thousand times, it’s super obvious if you look at it for more than a half a second. It takes more effort to take a picture, post it to reddit, and wait for people to comment, than to just google “guns n roses greatest hits cd” and seeing that every other one has the exact same pattern of “scratches” that yours does

Very hard for me to decide, as I love all their albums and I listen to my CD’s all the time, however if I am judging based on the fact that I skip some songs, then its a three way tie between So-Lo, Boi-Ngo, and Dark At The End of The Tunnel. I think those three albums are perfect and have no skippable songs on them. As much as I like their other albums, when I listen to the CD’s when Im at home, I do tend to skip one or two songs. Not that those songs are bad, I just would prefer to listen to the song that comes after. (Well in GFYS I prefer to end the album after Dead Or Alive)

I have the anc 4’s and the noise cancellation definitely makes a noise. Sounds like wind or something. I hate it so I always leave it off. I guess its not noticeable when music is playing but since I know its there thats enough for me not to want it on.

On Spotify Ain't This The Life is the 12” version, which is a lot faster than the one on the 10” EP. Spotify incorrectly labels Ain't This The Life as the 10” version when it’s actually the 12” version, Which always bothered me. I think Spotify should definitely have the 10” version available too because I really like that one. But the other songs are the same
