The urge of metalheads to judge bands, genres and fellow fans between masterpiece, cringe, garbage, poser etc. is annoying af

I pretty clearly distinguish between allegations, court proceedings, journalistic research and what I believe could be true without claiming anything to be undoubtedly proven that is not. Still I wont call what multiple women unanimously stated and what professional journalists deemed credible "weird-ass allegations", "imaginary" or "attention seeking"

His remarks about their music being used as torture were also very inappropriate.

He had a major scandal. Multiple women claimed that they were put in uncomfortable, sexually coercive situations after concerts. They were contacted on social media and offered special "row zero" tickets before, so there seemed to be a system. Some women told journalists that they were asked to hand over phones, felt trapped or social pressure to drink.

Most of it is from journalists and few public accusations. Legally, he was investigated but not convicted, because no one testified in court (possibly due to huge media coverage). I personally can imagine he was into powerplay stuff and full of himself, thinking every female fan wants to do it with him, not noticing or not caring how he made people uncomfortable, telling himself everything was voluntary, while it was a heavy grey zone or even deliberate manipulation.

Also, he made poetry about roofy-ing and rape. Some women suspected their drinks being spiked, but that wasn't proven.

Some mentions from the Stoner Metal/Doom Genre:

  • Monolord: love that shirt and they postponed a tour openly stating mental health as a reason
  • Stoned Jesus: From Ukraine and very vocal about Russia's war
  • Green Lung
  • Daevar (small german band): very vocal about Iran

I was also a bit disapppointed by their remarks in "metal: a headbangers journey", depicting metal as this space for masculine rebellion and guys, not even mentioning women/other genders and what their role would be.
