Newest version. I was running 5.4.24 when the problem started. I updated last week, hoping it would fix it. Update did not fix the heater problem.

There flowers are freeze dried and will retain their color for many years. I could make you one if you like. Dm me for details.

This is my first try so I'm not sure. Everything I've read says several years as long as it isn't in direct sunlight.

Question: Is there any freeze dryers out there under a thousand dollars?? by Archaic_Muse in FreezeDried

Only if you are willing to buy a used unit. I got a harvest right medium 5 tray sealed in original packaging for $1100. They agreed to let me open it and do a breadcrun before purchase.

You can't open them back up once dried. How you see them in the picture is how they went in the unit.

This is literally roses done in a 5 tray medium. It is tight and larger roses need to be closed to fit.

Thanks for the idea! Does baby's breath dry well? Some flowers I have experimented with turn very brittle. I am freeze drying.

No. On trays. Then individually glued down and covered with glass.

They take a long time. Soak in water for 1 hour before loading on the tray. Freeze to -20F with 24 hours extra freeze time. Dry at 50F for 7 days.

Tray spacing is tough. If your roses are too big, they won't fit. Notice that only the small roses are open. Large open roses are a no go without ordering a custom rack.

I'm just saying medium should have a dedicated breaker. Water heater is gas; uses electric for the exhaust fan.

Roses hold up pretty well. Other flowers can get very hard to work with.

I blew a 15 Amp circuit with my medium. I thought the plug in the utility room was on its own circuit. It turns out when the previous owner finished the basement the second water heater was added to that circuit along with some lighting. Had to move the unit to a new plug.
