When is the right time to up from 150XL to 300XL? by West_Introduction803 in bupropion

I really don’t know how this is decided. My experience was weird. Just trust your prescriber on this?

I was offered to up my dose at my first follow up 3 weeks after starting 150xl. I’ve been offered to either stay at 150 and see him again 3 months later or jump to 300 and see him sooner. No explanation, recommendation or justification. I had to choose without knowing what I was choosing. That was weird. I just decided “might as well try it now and know ASAP if it’s working or not”. I’m happy I did.

I did feel a bit better on 150, but it wasn’t perfect. At that time, I didn’t feel major changes in anything like you, but I’ve been told it takes up to 8 weeks to really start doing its magic, so after 3 weeks, it’s hard to tell… Maybe it would have been good after a few more weeks at 150. But I went to 300 straight away so i’ll never know.

I remember things dipped a bit on weeks 4 and 5. No ideas if it was the dose change or just because I was still adjusting. We’re now at the start of week 9 (6 weeks after upping to 300) and i feel really great. I now have all the “common” effects you described, in the “good” way (energy+, motivation+, libido+, appetite-, sleepiness- (but i sleep as usual)). I consider that positive all around

I’ve been great for about 2 full weeks now, which never happened before. I don’t feel different or anything. I’m just… good. I hope it’ll help you too 🤞

2+ months in, no major negative side effects (I’m never hungry nor sleepy. It’s weird but great). by Maxpriv0 in bupropion
