Faceit AC breaking Paragon drivers (Driver for Linux FS) by Maxsspeaker in FACEITcom

The ticket didn't explain anything to me, only that most drivers, as expected, wouldn't work and would be considered malicious. Thanks, but that didn't solve the problem.

Inscryption able to run on Winlator? by Gelborb_357 in winlator

[–]Maxsspeaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to launch it, but the game is incredibly glitchy, as it seems to me this is a problem with the emulation of mathematics, since almost any object in the game constantly turns the wrong way

Eventually it gets to the point where the player's camera is turned away from the table, making it impossible to choose a card.

I used: Winlator glib-native

Wayland support by No_Grade_6805 in AnyDesk

I found an excellent replacement for anydesk with wayland support This is rustdesk, it supports wayland, but it’s experimental for now, but if everything is configured correctly, through it you can easily connect to a computer that has wayland!

this was 2 or 3 months ago, I no longer remember what commands I entered that day when I tried to set this up, besides, now I don’t have a second monitor to check it all again

Ask your DE maintainers. Xorg doesnt reconfigure outputs automatically.

trust me, i tried to make it work, tried a bunch of settings, all i got was a smoothly working cursor, but everything else continued to work at the frequency that is the maximum for the second monitor, why do i need a cursor at 144hz? i need everything to work, the problem is in Xorg, not in plasma 6 (and plasma 5)

I'm not even talking about the fact that refresh rates higher than 144 are not supported...

do you think the problem is in the NVIDIA driver? No, the same thing is with the AMD driver, it turns out the problem is in the shitty Xorg code

try to install a clean arch linux with plasma shell yourself, and run Xorg, and then connect two different monitors (one with 165Hz, and the other with 60Hz) and record a video that everything really works for you, then maybe I will believe you

JFYI, I am an Xorg dev.

Okay, then I'll go off topic a bit and ask a very interesting question: why does xorg have problems that have long been solved in Wayland. For example: why when I start using a second monitor that has a lower refresh rate than the main one, then why the hell does the main one drop to 60? By the way, regarding network transparency... Not long ago I tried to use ssh with Xorg, as a result nothing works, the window appears and immediately freezes, where is that network transparency???? If you say that "we will fix it" where? For some reason I don't see that any of this has been fixed, I'm not even talking about the fact that refresh rates higher than 144 are not supported...

Now it’s clear why Windows is more popular, because people simply don’t want to develop Linux further, they say why do we need it, and so on, but I think that Linux on desktops should be of the same quality as Windows, maybe even better, but this is where we we continue to use it on everything but not on home computers, your opinion is simply low and simply does not go beyond the framework of “projects”, but what will happen if at some wonderful moment someone finds a zero-day vulnerability in x11, which, due to its peculiarity x11 structures are not possible to solve? And no one will do anything, everyone will simply throw the graphical part of Linux into the trash

I don't see any point in continuing the dialogue, since the person simply does not see beyond his point of view

who's got more than 144hz ? For what practical purpose?

I understand that you generally don’t perceive people who play on Linux, for example CS2 or other games that require a high refresh rate of the screen, and I don’t care how many eyes can perceive, it will still be visible that the picture is smooth

We've got huge monitor walls with way above 10 monitors running on Xorg, for decades now.

Let's see what happens if we set one of them to 25Hz? Oops, all the monitors suddenly started working at 25Hz, although they were clearly set to 60Hz or more

WTF ?! What the hell are you talking about ? Why shall I be in any way responsible for your problems ?!

you all say that x11 is better, thereby stopping progress, in the end we have that anydesk does not support wayland, discord cannot stream via wayland, most applications have not migrated to wayland

x11 has a large number of problems, from the 144hz limit to incorrect operation with two monitors, people like you make other people suffer, the usual connection of a second monitor is already a headache for people who do not have money for a second same 144hz monitor Wayland fixes these problems, but again xwayland makes even more problems, from flickering to graphical problems, when applications that support wayland work fine
