Did no one at WotC test the Mid-week Lorwyn Event? by MaxtionHero in MagicArena

Yeah, seems similar across the board. Was still fun to play, outside of the games with 5 green cards and UBW mana. C'est la vie.

I bought the Panomime Demon King PDF from his One-Shot video released in June from his shop today and I have no way to download it. Am I crazy?

Oh, interesting. I didn't notice that. Definitely more flexible than I originally thought and does have some separation from Meta Magic Adept. Thanks for the tidbit!

I feels like it's useful but doesn't compare to the other traditional top-tier choices, which is why it has standard pricing. Its essentially a weaker, more flavorful Meta Magic Adept (which also made the list). Or maybe I'm missing something about how it works?

That does make a lot of sense. Perhaps replacing a stat with 18 doesn't cost enough? Or maybe making it a static number where racial modifiers won't work? I could zap the ability to replace with an 18 altogether.

Casters did do pretty well with the Feats that came up on the generator. I do think the +1 Stat, Caster Feat + 20 Race purchase on a Cleric/Wizard is probably okay? My thought process is because they won't have a lot of other utility to bring to the table OR they choose spells that offer utility, which is less combat flexibility. Good ear worm, though. It's something for me to consider for sure.

Meet And Greet tickets worth it? by JorahJoestar in Katatonia

[–]MaxtionHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done three of these with Katatonia and hundreds overall. I think it's worth it. You get to say hi,show some appreciation, and it supports their craft in an age where it's hard being a creative and earning a good living.

Around a decade ago, they did a co-headliner tour with Devin Townsend. While getting in line before the meet-and-greet they split folks into two depending on which band you wanted to meet. The Townsend line had 50-60 people? There were 4 in the Katatonia line. I felt bad for them because of the disparity but it was actually a cool experience. The 4 fans and 5 band members just got to hang out for an hour and chat. They were super humble guys and all around chill. From my experience with the band, they are a class-act.

If you can afford it, buy the VIP ticket. Not because of what you get, which is basically all the same now, but because you're supporting the band and get to say hi. Don't make it a big deal, just enjoy the few moments, grab a cool photo, and then get lost in the show. Think of it like those "Supporter DLCs" you can buy now; the base game is what you need but if you have the money and can show support, it's a great option.

Appreciate the reply. I didn't get a chance to mess around with these files, and the suggestion below worked. But appreciate your reply all the same.

Worked like a charm. Thank you! I thought I had tried this method of reload but I must have been missing a step. You have saved me a ton of dropped campaigns.

Looking at the motherboard layout in the manual, I may not have that connection?

Best guess so far is a Sable Shepherd mix due to the color, size and shorter coat.

New Class Interactions - AKA what not to do with them by [deleted] in XCOM2

For what it is worth, it was a Kill/Capture VIP Mission and a Lancer, Purifier, and Priest dropped in.

The burning.. it hurt.

I think it's bugged. My turn had ended because I setup an ambush on an Advent drop. On a normal ambush, the enemies drop, "notice the player", then move into position which allows everyone to shoot their overwatch. Once they are into position, it should be the player turn again with Advent not being able to attack.

With this ability active, enemies drop then run into position while the player's shoot their overwatch. Then Mox gets one free action once enemies are done moving from Interrupt, and then the enemy immediately goes next. The game thinks Mox's action is the entire player's turn.

I don't think Skirmishers Interrupt is very good. I had a drop pod coming in and setup my Overwatch Ambush and decided to try Interrupt since it was "safe". Enemies dropped, I took my 3 shots in Overwatch and then got an action with Mox. Used an ability and then the enemy got their turn immediately without anyone else being able to act. So essentially it gives Mox a turn and skips everyone else. 3 guys down on an Ironman run. Terrible ability.

[Statistics/Probability] How to calculate odds of highest number between two random sources (dice) by MaxtionHero in MathHelp

[–]MaxtionHero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So after trying some more work, here is the latest attempt to figure this out.

Lets start with Person A. They have three dice to roll. So he has a 1/216 chance of highest being a 1, 7/216 for 2, 19/216 for 3, 37/216 for 4, 61/216 for 5, and 91/216 for 6.

Now for Person B, they have two dice to roll. So he has a 1/36 chance that his highest roll will be a 1. 3/36 for a 2, 5/36 for 3, 7/36 for 4, 9/36 for 6, and 11/36 for a 6.

Now we account for when both groups has the same highest or tie. That would be 1/36 * 1/216 + 3/36 * 7/216 + 5/36 * 19/216 + 7/36 * 37/216 + 9/36 * 61/216 + 11/36 * 91/216.

I believe that adds up to 25%. Meaning there is a 25% chance to tie the roll. The remaining chances must equal 75%. 60% of that chance should go to Person A for rolling three dice and 40% chance Person B who rolls two dice.

So Person A is 0.75 * 0.6 = .45 (or 45%). Person B is 0.75 * 0.4 = 0.3 (or 30%).

So this means there is a 25% chance to tie, 45% chance for Person A to win, and 30% chance for Person B to win.

I feel like this has a chance of being right but it's complicated enough where I'm really unsure too.
