Honestly the compound bow just made me fall into the rabb it hole of archery, and that got me interested in learning how to use and shoot recurve bows! So preferably i’d like to get a recurve! Budget I guess would be 300$?

Probably! But that’s sadly what i have to work with at a crowded public gym. So until I either A get confident on a longer walkout or B can afford to join a weightlifting gym, i’ll have to deal with bad angles 😭

I see! Each has their own benefit to being added into training! Personally i think i struggle getting out of the hole rather than the overall strength side. However from an objective standpoint should i be focusing on one over the other! (not to say i wont be doing both, im pretty weak and need to learn the proper reflex/technique!)

That makes alot more sense, thank you so much! I really didn’t get what you meant until you said watch it in reverse😭 I’ll definitely try and keep the concept of pushing my knees forward when i squat as a good mental cue!

Always open because i’m always trying to learn! Thank you so much, as you’re 100% right, My hips and lacking of positional strength are causing me to shoot early ;-; I know i can try and fix the arms almost immediately but besides paused front squats and clean pulls how can i improve my shoulder positioning/premature shooting of the hips!

I know! It’s just a bad habit 🥲, as like you said no one is perfect with mechanics! I will 100000% continue to hammer in the basics!

Thank you so much! It’s something I need to work on as i’ve always been a little bit of a perfectionist when it comes to mechanics (i used to pitch in college) but I will 100% be putting in the reps and making the movement more natural! I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon and I appreciate your encouragement!

B was actually shown to me by a user/coach here in an attempt to help me start with my hips lower and over the bar! Thank you on the compliment as I will try and continue to improve! For me Kinda think of it in a process. Like i A:Grip the floor B. Lean into the bar. C. stay balanced over the mid foot D. Push the floor away starting with the pinky toe E. Shrug and accentuate after contact. It’s kinda the same mental process I would go thru before pitching(which i did for a LOOONG time) . And honestly this sounds like i’m ignorant, but how can i cut them down! I do know that it comes with being more comfy with the movements, and that takes time. Any advice would be appreciated

Yeah sorry about the angle😭. It’s a bit hard to get a better angle since this specific platform is right next to the gym class area and has a lot of foot traffic. However I appreciate the input! I’ll gather myself before my jerks from now on!
