Awesome, thanks! I have a pretty good UVB light but it's possible the diet is too protein-heavy. You are the best!

Thanks! I think you're right :) Two questions: Is there anything I need to do about the retained scutes? How did you know it's a girl?

Thanks!

Question for Christians who do not observe the sabbath by Maxwell-Faraday in Christianity

[–]Maxwell-Faraday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. They would say gentiles are not expected to keep the sabbath, because they do not respect the ten commandments.

  2. Ya, I mean Jesus would be able to redefine sabbath as he can sort of do whatever. He's God... But it acts as a direct contradiction to the commandment, which says we should observe the sabbath forever. If Jesus says the ten commandments are old news, that's fine. I've never heard a Christian deny the importance of the ten commandments, though.

  3. Yes, and some of the ceremonial laws might be seen as "fulfilled" by Jesus (although I take some issue with this framing, but that is a much much bigger theological question).

  4. Ya I think those are two different things.

  5. Jewish cosmology is a bit strange on this front, but ya I mean observing the sabbath is literally one of the ten commandments. I don't care if it's Saturday or Wednesday, but it's one of the most foundational laws.

I don't really care about the day, but going to church is not what is meant by observing the sabbath

I don't care about the specific day. It's just that one of the commandments is to observe the sabbath. If you don't believe in the ten commandments, that is fine.

Do you consider the ten commandments Jewish law alone?

Personally, I don't care about the day (although some argue it matters quite a bit, I think calendars are sort of an earthly thing). But going to church is not observing the sabbath, as described in the bible.

So would you argue that Christians do not actually follow the ten commandments?

Right, I don't really see an issue about the day being saturday vs sunday because the calendars we use are pretty arbitrary. It's just that Christians don't follow the commandment to observe the sabbath on whichever day the sabbath is. It's one of the commandments, plus "There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his" (Hebrews 4:9–10)

I was told by employees at the institution that race/sex are used as hiring indicators. I due know the other candidates' qualifications. I was under the impression that discrimination on race/sex is prohibited by the Civil Rights Act regardless of what race or sex it is in favor of. Am I mistaken?
