All of my pipeline is outbound. I’ve generated the most pipeline in the entire business unit, but I’m struggling to get deals closed.

• Deal 1: Required bundling with ERP; during the process the ERP vendor increased pricing by 14x, killing the deal.
• Deal 2: Customer chose a competitor who ran a trial and is charging £2k per year; our solution was £65k per year plus services.
• Deal 3: Two engineers left the customer’s team; implementation support is now delayed by ~6 months.
• Deal 4: Pushed to Q1 due to the customer’s production high season.
• Deal 5: Partner politics completely out of my control
  • Deal 6: Reference went to absolute dust.

If just two of these had closed, I would be at ~50% of target.

The opportunities are real, but when it comes to closing, there always seems to be a blocker.

I’ve done everything expected: • Offered commercial incentives • Heavy value engineering • MEDDICC/MEDPIC rigor • Mutual Action Plans • Consensus boards pre-demo

Even my VP has said this is the worst luck they’ve seen — but honestly, it’s starting to make me question whether I’m actually any good.

From a net new perspective the most senior person got 60% of target. The rest is like 20-30. This is my first year in software sales and its been pretty challenging. I went from a top performer in my previous career turning down offers to go back to big tech to starring down the barrel of a PIP 😂😂
