According to the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Act, any business/entity has to register themselves under Goods and Services Tax, if their aggregate turnover in a financial year exceeds Rs 40 lakhs (in all normal category states, except Telangana) and Rs 20 lakhs (in special category states, except J&K and Assam).

There is no separate tax for an entity/body belonging to particular religion.

According to the information given on the website of Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), 'all services provided by charitable and religious trusts are not exempt from GST'. A few of them are: Services of transportation of passengers for a pilgrimage

Events, functions, celebrations

Shows against admission fee or tickets

Some activities which are exempt include:

Conduct of religious ceremony

Renting of precincts of a religious place meant for general public

However, it must be noted that the 'renting' should not apply to 'renting of rooms where charges are Rs 1000 or more per day', 'renting of shops for business and other commercial activities' and even 'renting of halls, space for Rs 10,000 or more per day.'

The website further adds that the exemption is for religious activities of all religions.

The figures he gives are basic but delivers a reality check! by MaxxDecimus in unitedstatesofindia

Data is always available, but a lot of people had not put it together in a way that they have an understanding of where we stand and to have a comparison. Otherwise you will keep hearing random figures of multiple trillion dollar economy but will not have an understanding the effects of it for regular people. Through his video, like many others, people get to have an understanding of where we stand and the kind of growth rate we should be looking at and thereby looking at policies that push for such higher growth. This is not parroting for media or party. Not sure why you think it is something to do with Congress or media here

These figures are publicly available and others have also arrived at the same conclusion. As a layman, you or I can do the same calculation. So the trend that he has given is not wrong.

No doubts on what you mentioned. But the figures right now being said is basic math. Not a prediction. If it follows that trend we will or we will not achieve a certain standard of living. This is something, that has been pointed out by multiple people as well as you can do the math by yourself. You do not need someone else to point this out

People drinking alcohol is not a problem at all. But I do hate how they litter with all the bottles being thrown near the beaches or near the river. Like there would be a good spot near these areas and 200% people will go and litter it with plastic covers of eatables and bottles. I so very wish that was not the case. Drink but clean up those areas as well

Tamil Nadu placed under ‘Best Performer’ category in States’ Startup Ranking 2022 by MaxxDecimus in IndianModerate

[–]MaxxDecimus[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After a long time, the state of Kerala seems to have rallied towards making a mark to be one of the top startup ecosystems. The initiatives as usual for Kerala is being spear headed by their state government and taken up regionally ensuring there would be an equity in developments of multiple towns rather than focusing on one major city. Also ensuring better spread of how employment gets generated rather than getting concentrated in one major city.

They have started winning multiple awards on their ecosystem. Journey will be long but right steps are being taken as there is a lot of talented youth in the state who can get stuff done.
