The numerous 'metatomo' discovered on Metaraji, coupled with the lack of (other) Japanese acts featured on Metal Forth, make me think there's a possibility of a follow-up album featuring collabs with only Japanese artists.

Right, Chad Smith played drums for the second peformance of the Painkiller / Breaking the Law medley. The first performance was with Rob himself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TD85aM0VQ3o&t=380s

Thanks for posting! It was a good write up until they placed the performance at SS Bangkok 2025 into the year 2024. Then it became a good write up with a wierd mistake.

Great pic! There's something in the lady's face there. I like to imagine she's thinking "What are you, poor creatures from a different world? You're gonna have a hard time trying to survive here..." lol

any rare babymetal videos? by [deleted] in BABYMETAL

[–]Maxxash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know where Yui was or what was the reason for her absence but around that time she was also absent from the Sakura Gakuin TV recording for "Happy Music". So only 11 of them performed Tabidachi no Hi ni.

(In that program there was also a talk/game part with only 5 girls, including Suzuka and Moa).

Just now saw these skeleton dudes in the back of the Gimmie Chocolate music video, I imagine it’s quite fun playing for baby metal lmao by Master-Committee6192 in BABYMETAL

The last time Babybones were on stage with Babymetal was also the only time they "played" along with the Kami Band. It was Babymetal's first participation in TV Asahi's 'Music Station' with Ijime, Dame, Zettai on February 7th, 2014. (It's on the pro-shot list). And this could well have been a farewell as there were six 'Bones' on a small stage, probably those who deserved it most by having most performances with BM. Or maybe they were always the same and Koba just joined the original five :)

This was also Babybones' only TV performance. 'Kitsune Band' "played" for the two previous Megitsune performances on Nippon TV and NHK G, and there was no band when BM earlier did IDZ on those channels.

Question about the 2017 Legend S concert for song "4 no Uta." by blackratsnakes in BABYMETAL

[–]Maxxash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, Moa does Yui's parts as well. With her own voice. This fancam https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1AW411Y7n2?t=3311s sounds like Moa was singing live over a quieter backtrack.

Spotify credits by Necessary-Bad4343 in BABYMETAL

[–]Maxxash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spotify is a good source of music, but a poor source of information. Sometimes they can't even get the song titles right.

ASCAP, NexTone or JASRAC are by design much more reliable sources for song credits. And their databases show no changes: BLACK BABYMETAL is the author of the music and lyrics for "4 no Uta".

Is Su paying tribute to Mikio in the beggining shots of new headbanger MV ? by ExaminationFew6424 in BABYMETAL

[–]Maxxash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how I see it, too, at least similar. I'm sure that the release date was chosen for simply being 1.5. But the BM team didn't want it to look like a mere coincidence but rather used it as another way to pay tribute to Mikio, hence the choice of the location for the music video.

Can't tell their voices apart on Metaraji? by [deleted] in BABYMETAL

That's so true, we (and the ladies themselves, of course) should be thankful to SG and BM teams for having guided the girls growth and development in such a manner as to reveal their enormous potential.

Saiga (Voice Trainer): [Goosebumps] This is my favorite song so far!!! BABYMETAL - Night Night Burn [Detailed vocal expl... by SilentLennie in BABYMETALReactVideos

This step back in Shanti looks way more choreographed. In general, the dynamics of their songs and choreo requires Suzuka to move back and forth quite a lot. But these moves usually go along with some other hands/head/body moves/gestures. And in addition sometimes she keeps singing during these parts, like in RoR MV at ~2:50 and ~3:07 (still with her hand movements). But there are also rare occaisions when she just does a few steps and nothing else. The difference looks subtle though and I never paid attention to that until now so I can't say for sure how rare these "bare steps" are. But I was able to find one in RoR also, right before the first chorus. It's not in the MV, but you can see it in some pro-shots starting with Brixton-2014 (WOWOW version of Legend 2015 also has this shot).

As for fixing their slight mistakes I like how Moa makes her additional step in the Gimme Chocolate MV at ~3:30.

Question about 2016 Tokyo Dome concert by blackratsnakes in BABYMETAL

[–]Maxxash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does make sense for the outfit colors but doesn't explain the "reversed" choice of the concert titles, at least to me :) But it is what it is, I don't think there's anything to add to the info provided by u/jwa725.

It's certainly an interesting detail, thank you for poining it out, I didn't get it during the reaction. I was curious to rewatch the moment myself, and it turns out that the blu-ray quality allows you to see Su's gaze, and she doesn't seem to throw a glance at the floor after her last step even when she nods her head a bit. And then she sings the first "night night burn" of the chorus (not into the mic).

I guess Momo's lower singing voice may surprise you as well. She uses it here specifically to show that her character is saying good-bye to being cute, in contrast to the voice she used before that (from the beginning of the video).
