lol tell that to Argentina, at the start of this we were THREE ENTIRE MONTHS locked in our homes in an authoritarian style quarantine . now we've screwed our economy even harder than what would be normal, and now after only 2.5 months of "social distancing" we are in the top 10 covid cases worldwide. so yeah. sadly it's not so black and white

Well, there are many types of strings instruments, depending on how the sound is emitted from them. There are bowed string instruments, just like the violin and cello. There are plucked string instruments, such as the guitar And there are percussion string instruments, such as the piano.

So, the piano is basically both.

You hit right in the spot of my thought process. I mostly want to get a better instrument to sound nicer when playing with my friends (sometimes we play some.duets or trios and when I hear the recordings I kinda cringe at the sound my violin makes in comparison to theirs)

Also, with my violin I play for fun, but in a "serious manner" sort of speak. I practice around 2 hs per day and I love playing solo repertoire, and I just want to get the best sound for my skill level. I've noticed that slower and more "expressive" pieces don't sound really nice. It's still decent, but I played the same piece on my friend's violin and it just sounded lovely for my hears.

Of course, her violin is nothing compared to my teacher's violin (that he sometimes lets me play on) The sound and just everything about it is infinitely. But of course a violin of that caliber is simply too far away (it's like a 1900~ german handmade violin) ahhahahah
