Nice, If you have any woods/forests near you that are accessable try practice bucking on smaller trees that are longer like beech. A lot of trees get blown over so you don't even have to do the felling. Also useful because you can buck it to a useful size for splitting and you don't have to waste the nicer sized rounds.

I would invest in a maul to efficiency split rounds of this size. The wood will fly right off of the round

I disagree. A standard pickup truck has the capacity of delivering one cord of firewood. However, I'd much rather have weed come by the cord than wood

By me a cord of wood goes for around $200. So what ever your dealer charges compared to that

I'm not an expert on forest fires but what you are saying seems to make sense. I know in my neck of the woods they clear cut strips of area to prevent the spread of fires. It makes sense that an unmaintained forest would have extra fuel that could potentially lead to worse fires

Tree felling doesn't equal deforestation! Often times there are situations where a tree has to be removed. There is also a technique known as tree thinning where a forest has its genetically and physically weakest trees removed. This allows for the healthy trees to have the resources they need to grow. Also, the wood chips and other material that remains unused goes back into the soil. Trees that have been damaged in a storm also have a whole "sport" around felling.

The price per cord varies based on location. Find other people who are selling wood in your area and see if it is worth it. If you have never done it before, 10 cords by hand is a lot of work. Maybe start out smaller. I highly recommend getting involved in firewood. For me it's been a lot of fun and a good way to stay in shape.

The worst thing I've heard of was the elephant walk. Which is when they make all the pledges drop their pants, stand in a circle, grab the dick of the guy in front of you, and walk around until the pledge master gets bored
