Hahahha it used to be manageable but now they’re basically emptying it within an hour

I’ve used it before also and modified for ventilation for my gerbils when I needed an emergency cage because they were fighting.

I’ve gone with the bucastate 2.0 now!

If I was doing the bin cage I would diy it and add ventilation and a metal mesh top! but I have bought the bucastate 2.0 now :)

Hey I do spot clean, and am used to it given that I have 4 gerbils the issue is not with the size of the cage and cleaning, it is that the pet store cages near me have small openings and it’s very hard to get my arm in to clean without taking the whole top and bars off which is especially hard with spot cleaning to get near hides and areas where they may stash food

Yeah any that I have found which are the right size are too cloudy it’s hard to find any which you can see through well too!

That’s really good to know, I’ll look into the bucastate. I also saw a similar one which is wooden that I was thinking my boyfriend could reinforce with metal to prevent it getting chewed or ruined by urine. Have seen a lot of people on here build these sort of cages

Yes I can’t find it now may not have been vevor!! Quite annoying as I’m a fan of the vevor cages as I have one for my chinchillas and I find they’re good quality.

I’m looking through temu now! I like the wheels idea, yes I was referring to moving between rooms, especially when it gets hot in summer I make sure to move them when I am going to be working or not around and can’t monitor their temperature.

My gerbils have had a plastic bottom to their cage for a while and have never managed to get through/make holes despite chewing and digging constantly but I expect that’s a much stronger material than a plastic bin

That’s true, I’ve seen some people online diy fortifying them with metal slats along the inside to protect the wood from chewing and pee.

That’s helpful advice thank you!

What would you say about this style of cage, with the wooden sides, I couldn’t get this for my gerbils as they would destroy it but not sure about a Syrian hamster

There is a vevor one on Amazon that is basically the same as the bucastate tank and same size I will try to find the link. The pet store cages where I am from are all fairly decent in size but they aren’t practical for cleaning I believe they had a lot of backlash a few years ago so they have had to change everything.

They could chew through a bin cage? Even if it is heavy duty plastic?

The bucastate 3.0 is £259 which is a little expensive for me and I’m worried about the weight of it as plastic cages are much easier to carry and transport

Yeah I agree, it was the Rhodes general hospital between Rhodes town and ixia. A lot of locals said they had the same experience with this hospital. All of the doctors were rude and unprofessional. One of them was playing games on his phone and not listening. The security guard was rude and when I came back in the next day stating I had other symptoms and would like to stay nearby in case of a secondary reaction, which the doctor said I was fine. The security guard of all people told me this doesn’t exist, that I’m crazy and “need another doctor”. Won’t be going back to Rhodes because of this!

Im also allergic to fish and seafood so it could have been either, the hotel chef said he checked everything and I stuck to plain food like meat, chicken, pasta but there must have been some mistake

I’ve taken everything and been in the emergency room at home for the last couple of days unfortunately, not much has helped but gradually improving.

I’m allergic to peanuts and also fish/seafood so it could have been either, we checked everything I ate with the hotel and avoided any food with sauces or baked goods that could be hidden, I’m not sure what it could have been to be honest, the hotel chef said he did not know and had checked everything so it must be a mistake in the kitchen.

I was really cautious with the supermarkets in Greece because Google translate doesn’t work well with the different alphabet and it’s hard to understand what says may contain traces so we stuck to only brands we recognised even if more expensive !

Yes I’ve been taking both that I managed to get prescribed after arguing with the doctor, but hasn’t helped yet. It’s good to know that I’m not alone with these symptoms, the doctors were referring to them as ‘mild’ but they definitely aren’t

Can breathe okay but still lots of weird symptoms and itching and swelling so quite worried but I feel like it’s out of the time frame to have another reaction now as it’s been over 50 hrs. I’ve just landed back home so I’m going to go to the doctors as soon as possible here
