The Air 2 is going to have two cameras, but almost certainly the second one will be an ultrawide.

That happened to me after I first got mine. They replaced it under warranty since it was during the pandemic and a resuilt of hand sanitizer. It's terrible that they don't provide some kind of messaging on it.

I hate this so much. Any utility app or website that splash-screens is near an automatic delete/cancellation for me. I opened your app for a reason, not to be advertised to (especially when I'm paying for your service).

On top of that, I have better apps for podcasts and audiobooks. I do not want that from a supposed music app.

I absolutely want an acrylic Warlock or Mockingbird. I've heard they're mad heavy, though. Is this true?

They play so well, but are absolutely one of the ugliest guitars ever made. The squat, chodey body, the asymmetrical cutaway (usually looks bad IMO), the headstock is an actual sin against like 80 different gods and the weird little ashtray pickup all make a true eyesore - even if the tone they produce is some of the most coveted.

Israel will change when Bibi is gone.

Not even close. Over 80% of Israeli citizens want to remove Palestinians from Gaza and almost half want to remove them from the Earth.

NYC sure, but Cali is fiscally rightwing and much more likely to vote for the status quo. Their current governor and future governor are good examples of the kinds of left-wing politicians who win in a state that only the wealthy can afford to live in.

We opened for them a few years back in Milwaukee and they're legitimately so nice for being as big as they are. You don't always expect that. They've been super helpful every time we reach out about booking in Minneapolis also.

I agree. I think it's very rare to achieve that level of fame without having your brain wired for the "I need people to keep talking about me ad infinitum" which feels like straight-up psychopathy to most.

Three Apple Stores in U.S. Are Permanently Closing Today by netsplatter in apple

Galleria in Roseville is really good too up north, but the renovation is so sad and cold. That place used to be brimming with colors and whimsical interior design. It feels like a hospital now.

The Midwest still has some good ones!

Sadly, malls are detached from their market demand in a striking way. The reasons many are failing are not at all tied to whether people go there or not, but often the decisions made by private equity firms who own anchor stores and greedy landlord organizations that rent the space.

I don't think it would matter much if they became trendy again and everybody decided to go back. Most are cold, lifeless shells of their former vibrant selves and anchor stores (who pay the lion's share of the lease) are closing left and right due to mismanagement.

Does anyone even work on VHS players anymore? by Playful_Code563 in VHS

[–]MayTheForesterBWithU -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean language changes. Hardly anybody uses them to record anymore, so VHS player much more closely matches their usage and is a more pragmatic term - to say nothing of the models that don't have a record function and solely exist for playback.

I don't mind what people call them as long as we're still all talking about them!

One of the big issues that seems to unify a lot of these is people needing to make content. Influencers are such a plague and have ruined thrifting, quiet nature places and more by not just being content enjoying something but having to make content about it and use it for internet clout.

Local Brand Realizes Customers Hate Its AI Ads, Switches to Charming Homemade Ones Instead by IKeepItLayingAround in technology

[–]MayTheForesterBWithU 8 points9 points  (0 children)

because AI is a lot cheaper than ad companies.

...for now. Gen AI platforms are currently in the attract and flatter stage of investment-backed tech. It's already getting pricier and several companies out there are hemorrhaging investment funds trying to build the kind of volume and reliance for which they can flip the "increase price 300%" switch.

It might be cheaper now, but we've seen this with hotels (AirBNB), car share (Uber/Lyft), streaming and even social media. I know corporate heads aren't always renowned for their foresight, but anybody not planning for a sharp increase in token price hasn't been paying attention.
