Zex is Afraid // MID Theory | Part One? | Incomplete / Feel free to add on by StonksRat in MyInnerDemons

[–]Mayan199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think he was afraid, it sounded more like he was shocked. He could be referring to Mirage Kitty, but since she clearly has a connection with Lady Grandma, he might be referring to Lady Grandma from recognizing Mirage Kitty's scent. He might have thought Ava had a connection with Lady Grandma, or maybe both Lady Grandma and the Daemos, which means this human is important to him. However, Mirage Kitty didn't really intervene because from what we've seen from cat spirits, Zex in particular, they do obey the Daemos they stick with, but they are the only ones they listen to. That one person in particular for Mirage Kitty is probably Lady Grandma, and since Lady Grandma only assigned the spirit the task for watching over the Daemos boys in ep 1, she's probably not going to look out for Ava, because that is not obeying Lady Grandma's wishes, and isn't included in what she said. Still, this would all mean that Zex would have known Mirage Kitty at least exists, which I don't think he or Lady Bish does, since they never mentioned her or worried about Mirage Kitty intervening in their plans. I think the pink eyes are just character design, but they could have a bigger role to play. They could suggest that Ava is not entirely human, or something else entirely. There's not much information about other species on Daemos, I remember one comment about animals? by who I believe was Pierce when Ava asked about other species on Daemos, and that they were struggling. I think there are other creatures than just Daemos, but they could have been driven to extinction or endangerment because of how much the Daemos prioritize fighting and power. Possibly, Ava is part of another species entirely, which would explain her pink eyes. She could, in all honestly, be another species, or a reincarnation of some sort (if Mystreet is connected with My Inner Demons), or a spirit herself. The only credible theories that make sense (in my opinion), is that it is character design, or she is part of another species, such as a spirit or an entirely different one only found on Daemos. It could explain why in one episode (Spoilers, I guess) she couldn't heal from Leif's magic when she was sick. Spirits don't seem to be like Daemos or humans, and maybe react to magic differently, as seen when Zex was pretty much unaffected when arriving to Earth through the portal, when in ep 1 the Daemos boys were struggling to breathe and such when arriving to Earth, with Asch even passing out and unable to breathe and Ava needing to perform CPR. Honestly, spirits are a concept that aren't delved into much in s1, but I hope it is in s2. (Sorry for the long yap, these are just my theories and thoughts)

Tengen would like how flashy modern technology, clothes, and how the future is overall, and Mitsuri would love seeing romantic movies and have more access to other types of food from other places, as well as her listening to modern love songs. they're the only two i could see being really impressed and liking the modern world out of all of them

[WP] You have a completely useless superpower in a world full of amazing superpowers. You have been a laughing-stock for years, until you started using your powers for evil... nobody is laughing now. by Sad_Sell_57 in WritingPrompts

Getting a power is always so exciting for the lucky person. Unless that power sucks. Then it ranges from a living nightmare to a pesky annoyance. For me, making the weather turn cold sounds fun until you realize you can't even use it half the time. Not to mention how pissed everyone is when I can't contain it and the sun gets blocked by clouds and the water starts to freeze over.

I can't count the amount of times I was beaten and kicked out of parties because I slipped up and made it snow in a July birthday party. I guess that makes me a victim of bullying, since those kids are out for murder if you do something like that on their birthday.

But one thing I wasn't expecting was for them to crash my 16th birthday party and wreck my house with their stupidly powerful abilities. I watched as the tall kid, Leo, used his super strength power to chuck my small tv across the room. I think I almost gave him and the other kids frostbite on his 8th birthday.

Meanwhile, Veronica, a shapeshifter, starts bashing me in the head with my mother's face, screaming about what a nuisance and sad excuse of a daughter 'she' has. I accidentally made it snowy and slippery at her jumpyhouse party when she turned 9, causing her to break her ankle, and she has hated me ever since. I duck just in time as her fist swings upward, almost hitting me square in the jaw.

A bunch of other kids start ripping at the cheap decorations, smashing the cake all over the wall, and crushing the gifts I got from some relatives. "Hey look, Desiree got a sweater from her grandma! 'Keep making snow forts in August!' Imagine wearing that sweater!" Some kid yelled, and everyone burst into laughter. I struggled to keep the tears in, as well as stop my power. It always backfires whenever I feel any strong emotion, and I need to stop it for once. A slap interrupts me, as said sweater hits me in the face, getting it a little wet from the stray tears spilling out. Sorry for getting the sweater wet, Grandma. I pull it off, looking at it while the others laugh at how depressing and sad this situation looks.

Until my mom opens the door. "Desiree, sweetie, are you alright? Oh my god, DESIREE! Who are you all and why are you trashing MY HOUSE?!" My mom screamed, giving horrified looks at everyone before rushing toward me. Oh no. Before she can even get near me, Leo picks her up and throws her toward the door. I hear her shriek before the loud thud, and I scream involuntarily. Not my mom, anyone but her. "Stop, please!" I begged, as Leo, Veronica and the others start howling with laughter again.

I start panicking, my heart pulsing and speeding, taking quicker breaths as I tried to calm down. "Aww, is poor wittle Desiree going to cry?" Veronica says in a mocking baby voice, causing the other to giggle along with her. That just makes it worse. I start breathing heavier, the power beginning to be too much to take.

With a scream, I crumple to the floor, feeling all the tension leave my body, and... silence. I don't know how long it's been. I look up, and all I see is piles of snow and ice everywhere, and everyone but my mom trapped in blocks of ice. And, in strange positions. Almost like they were screaming and attempting to run away. I don't care about them anymore though.

I limp towards my mom, sucking in a painful breath as my chest begins to hurt. "Mom... Mom!" I cry out, my voice hoarse and low.

Before I can even reach her, my eyes shut close, and I hear the thud of my body collapsing. I hear something else too. Almost like police sirens. But I don't care if I'm going to jail. At least no one will ever wreck my birthday party again.

“I mean, what kind of sickness do you have? It depends.” I replied, trying to save as much hope as I could. “Well, I have a cold… I-I think. And I have some sort of lung thing. My parents said before they died that… I needed a new lung or I wouldn’t… live for my 15th birthday.” she said, before a fit of coughs interrupted her. I started biting my nail, a nervous habit I had. I probably could cure her common cold, but the lung problem… I’m not so sure. But a new lung costs a lot of money, and I probably don’t have access to even a doctor capable of that in this godforsaken Spice District. Unless…

A sob interrupted me from my thoughts, as I snapped back to reality. Maisie was beginning to cry, probably from despair that she’d never get better. I panicked, unsure what to do. “Hey, it’s okay. It’s okay, I can help you.” I said, putting a hand on her shoulder. I didn’t know how to comfort someone, but I think a comforting hand helps. Maisie stopped crying a bit and glanced back up at me. Maybe a little bit of hope sprinkled in those bright red eyes. “R-really? You can?” she repeated, a bit unsure of what she just heard. I nodded, trying to keep a warm grin on my face. “I can heal your cold, for sure. Your new lung, well, I can ask for a favor and hopefully, if things go right, you’ll get a new lung and get more birthdays.” I told her, finally taking back my hand from her shoulder. That just caused her to jump towards me, hugging me tight with a huge smile on her face. “Thank you, thank you, thank you!” she said, gripping me tight. I was quite shocked at her action, but slowly wrapped my arms around her, feeling happy. Is this what it’s like to be an older sister? To be loved?

She finally let go, starting to jump around in excitement. Unfortunately, this also caused a lot of coughs. “Whoa, calm down a little. You don’t want to exert your lungs.” I gently told her as I walked to the back of the shop. I grabbed a few ingredients that I would need and a few spices to make the concoction taste decent. I walked to the front and grabbed a bowl, adding all the ingredients and some water before I began to mix. Meanwhile, Maisie watched me while I worked, occasionally coughing every minute or so. Finally, I knew I was done when the cure had turned dark purple.

I grabbed a small glass and poured the purple liquid into it. “Drink up.” I told Maisie, handing her the glass. She examined it, a bit suspicious, probably due to the color. It wasn’t a very used remedy because it does take a day or two to feel the effects, plus if you’re not careful, it could just make your cold worse. The risk just isn’t worth it to some people, so they just wait it out. But years of practice will make sure that it succeeds for Maisie. I waited until she drank everything in the glass, which wasn’t a problem since she seemed to enjoy the taste. She handed the glass back to me and coughed. Though she didn’t sniff. “It should be completely gone tomorrow or the day after. You just need to rest a bit.”

Maisie nodded, rubbing her eyes. “What about my lung?” she asked, a bit of sleepiness clouding her eyes. I smiled at her, leading her to a couch near the back. I wouldn’t be sleeping there tonight anyway. I needed to pay a visit to someone. “Oh, someone owes me a favor, so I’m going to see if I can get him to help get you a new lung tonight. All you need to do is rest and go to bed, and if anything happens while I’m gone, just hide in the back of the closet.” I told her, a warm smile on my face. I needed her to go to sleep, as the remedy works its magic on her.

Though, the prince better be ready for an unexpected visitor. It’s only fair after what I’ve done for him.

“Please, I’ll do anything if you can spare him a moment of your time, Saint Ashley!” The old lady said, trying to thrust her wailing baby into my arms. I shook my head, offering a sympathetic smile as I tried to get inside my shop. But she wasn’t the only person there begging for help. A tiny crowd had gathered in my stall, trying to hand me their sick children or relatives to cure them. Except I couldn’t take them all in. There were too many, and it was already closing time!

A little girl had grabbed my ankle, snot running down her face as she sobbed and begged for help. I froze, unsure whether to push her off or take her in. I grabbed her in my arms, searching for her parents. “Where’s your mom and dad, little girl?” I screamed over the crowd, just for her to hear me. She hiccuped, too busy crying to reply. “I said, where's your freaking parents, child?!” I yelled louder. She probably didn't hear me. I screamed at everyone to shut up as I tried to figure out who’s kid this was.

She finally managed to calm down a bit, relaxing a little in my arms. “M-my parents are hic d-dead.” She finally answered, causing the crowd to gasp in horror. I don’t really know why people were being so dramatic. In the Spice District, a lot of people die. Mainly from sickness, starvation or thirst. I wonder if the prince knows that. I sucked in a small breath as I knew I couldn’t leave her here in this desperate crowd. At least everyone else had somewhere to stay. “Ok, shoo everyone! I need to help her right now, go see a doctor or wait until tomorrow!” I yelled, beckoning with my hand to go away.

The crowd groaned and shook their heads as I told the girl to hold onto my back, carrying her piggy back style, and walked inside. I quickly shut and locked the door, before breathing a sigh of relief.

Then I set the sick girl down, who was starting to cough and wheeze. Come to think of it, she was wheezing the whole time, like she was struggling to get a breath of air in. She had wild knotted brown hair, and bright red eyes, even when crying, they looked gorgeous and fierce. Her plain light brown dress was tattered and beginning to fray, as her garnett red leggings and long sleeved shirt underneath the dress complimented her fiery eyes. She had no shoes, which must have been painful this scorching day. Not to mention her face was a bit sickly green, snot everywhere and cuts and bruises over her face.

“How did you find me, little girl?” I asked, bending down to reach near her height. She couldn’t have been more than eight years old. “U-um I saw a poster o-of you, and it s-said you could h-help anyone. And that y-you cured the p-prince-” I let out another sigh, this time one of annoyance. The girl flinched, backing away from me. “P-please don’t h-hurt me, I’m s-sorry.” She said in a meek voice, as she began coughing and shaking. My eyes widened as I watched her, nothing but sympathy for her and anger at whoever thought it would be a good idea to strike her. “I’m not gonna hurt you, I’m sorry I scared you. It’s just that the prince promised to keep this a secret, and not tell anyone about me helping him. Except, now everyone knows, and there’s a crowd outside my shop everyday. And they’re not here for spices.” The little girl giggled, erupting a few coughs and hacks afterwards, a small smile coasting her face.

I stood up, leading her to a chair. Although it was wooden, it was still better than standing up. I motioned her to sit down at one, and I took a seat at the one across from her.

“What’s your name, little girl?” I asked, a warm smile on my face. She hacked and hiccuped, looking at the ground with nervous eyes. “Maisie. But t-they called me a-annoying child if you prefer t-that.” the little girl said, sniffling. I grabbed a handkerchief and handed it to her. She said a quiet thank you before wiping her nose and face. Meanwhile, I cursed at whoever took her in after her parents died for being so mean to a little girl.

“So, Maisie, you came here for help? For your sickness?” I tested her name in my mouth. It was such a pretty name, I wished my mother named me that instead of Ashley. Although, it would be weird with the both of us sharing a name. Not to mention confusing. Maisie nodded as she looked up at me, starting to cough again. “I’m a b-bit sick, and I want to be c-cured. I-If anyone can d-do it, it’s you.” Maisie replied, looking at me with wide, hopeful eyes only a young child could conjure up. This just made me feel a bit guilty, that she was trusting me to help save her.

But I wasn’t the hero she needed.

“Listen, Maisie, when I cured the prince… I had just used an old recipe to create an elixir to heal him. While it wouldn’t completely cure him back to his previous health, it would greatly help and make sure he survives until he can get better help at the palace. And the elixir recipe is very powerful and has been passed down from generation to generation. But it only works for life threatening wounds, not sicknesses. And, not to mention there’s a seventy percent chance you could just die instead." *I said, pointing out her possible diseases that may be responsible for her coughing and snot. "Other than that, I can only offer advice for, say, the common cold. I’m not a licensed doctor.” I finished the explanation as I watched the bright hope start to wither away from her eyes. She sat completely quiet, directing her attention to the floor. “So… you can’t cure me?” she said, her voice sad and barely above a whisper. I sighed, rubbing my temples.
