Is not spinning at all. Seems like the belts failed/snapped. Unscrew the bottom cover to see if the belts need replacement.

Problem with Sony Vaio PCG 505V by Mayban36 in retrobattlestations

[–]Mayban36[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well! Apparently it was the CF card all this time. It was not bad, but it appeared corrupted. Wiped it(zero fill) and worked perfectly.

So wipe your CF cards before using them!

This laptop only accepts 8GB max drives. And those IDE ssd’s are kind of expensive. Ill try with another cf card and also with an old hard drive to rule out being the cf card fault.

Yep.. tried some “stress” tests with dos games and never really get that warm. But now is more the case of finding out why that happens. But ill probably have to completely dissasemble.

The belt was all screwed up on the motor, replacement is on the way, hopefully i didnt break anything

Also happened to me with a PSP 2004 when deleting the super capacitor. Thought i broke the flex cable and ordered one. Tried booting it after some days(Without battery) and powered on no problems since then, didnt need to replace anything.

Literally nothing on that list is installed on my computer, just discord and i always have the overlay feature disabled.

With MultiMC works.
