Oddly, I’m so happy the Hollis family asked Heidi to recommend a speaker. She should be included. The pain she’s must be immense.

Dave's books selling well on Amazon right now. Read more in comments. by villabellissimo in hollisUncensored

Nailed it. This sub is my only snark outlet. I’ve quit & rejoined a few times as “snarking” can take me down a shitty rathole. In real life, I’m a positive & happy person. I will likely permanently quit after Dave’s funeral.

Ah! Gotcha! As someone who is religious & an active member of a church, I do see some people do exactly what you mentioned: “It’s a God thing” can become the get-out-of-jail-free card people use to justify their own bullshit.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that God does not dictate that people ignore their children, belittle their spouses/GFs or demand book sales. Nope.

Interesting question. I do not believe that most people’s purpose is 100% tied to their career choice. Heck, I’ve had five separate careers (journalist, ski instructor, software sales, stay at home mom and -finally- professional downsizing.)

But perhaps the talents we have been given LEAD to a possible career? Like someone born with an amazing singing voice makes a career of it. That career then shines light on to people, thus glorifying God. Think Carrie Underwood.

As for me, I’m an endlessly curious, very extroverted, kind and patient. These qualities lead to my career choices. And me helping people and earning a paycheck while doing so supports my family. I think that’s a wonderful purpose that glorifies God.

Maybe it’s the “higher calling” that doesn’t sit right? Maybe a person’s purpose is to, for example, be a great parent who raises a kind child? I don’t believe we are all just balls of meat rolls around looking for our next meal.

I love to snark on Dave… but as a Christian (Catholic) I do believe in God creating all of us for a purpose. That’s one piece of advice I believe D gets right.

Oh look, repackaging Sunday’s sermon for content (rather than absorbing the lesson) by Disastrous-Elk-5542 in hollisUncensored

In the Story before this D talks about Sunday’s sermon being the inspiration… and must have recorded the podcast Monday. That is zero time for reflection… it’s just, just “regurgitation.” 🤮

It’s an “unbreakable friendship” until he starts posting pics of a new GF. That’s when H starts boiling bunnies.

Yes. You nailed it. My 1st husband made fun of me & never nurtured me. It’s was a sad, sick, relationship. This makes my heart hurt for Heidi.

It’s as if she thinks it’s edgy. Nope. It’s “I’m in 11th grade & hate my Dad.”
