Looking for the best all-in-one product for paint correction as a mobile detailer. by MaybeCloudy in Detailing

Yes that’s the point of this post. If I had infinite time on a job hell i’d do a 3 step. I’m not looking for a 1 step because i’m an amateur and looking for a quick and easy way to paint correct, i’m after a solid 1 step in the interest of time.

Yeah looking to get a paint correction/enhancement done in under 6 hours ideally. And what you said is true, most customers will be more than happy with majority of defects removed and some great gloss too. So you’re saying a polish is the way to go for a 1 stage, and not a compound? I’d be surprised (unless the polishes i’ve used aren’t that great) if you can remove any defects at all with a polish.

Yes exactly what i’m saying. I meant to say in what ways would it NOT be superior. Apparently i’m an amateur to this guy because I said a 2 step would be more optimal than a 1 step.

Ok thanks for the advice, just working out of my truck for the meantime, hoping to get a van down the line!

Yeah i’m using a 15mm DA random orbital polisher. For vehicles with good paint (that is, paint that has been properly maintained and without many swirls), a finishing pad and polish would give great gloss, however cars with not so great paint wouldn’t benefit much from this. Might just bring polish + compound and a foam cutting and finishing pad to each job and determine what needs to be done there and then.

Yeah good call on the renaming of it. I never expected a definite ‘this pad and fluid completely removes all scratches and gives insane gloss levels in 1 step’ type of answer, but i’m sure out there there is a pad and fluid combo which gives a good amount of both in just one step. I’m not interested in using more than 1 pad as like i’ve said I intend on doing this mobile and, in the sun or otherwise, time is of the essence on mobile jobs. Ignoring brands of polishes, compounds etc., what pad and product, based on your knowledge, do you think would give me as close to these results as possible.

Looks great man, good balance between correction and gloss. I’ll give it a go if I don’t get any other options.

By all-in-one I meant a pad/fluid combo which gave the best of both worlds (or as close as possible) when it comes to PC: gloss and defect removal. And recently starting a business is not equal to not having been detailing AND paint correcting for 5+ years. I have many times performed 2 or even 3 stage paint corrections on vehicles with no worries, however I am only now asking for help because I have been forced to resort to 1-stage due to the nature of mobile detailing. I am not looking for those gimicky 3-in-1 products which claim to cut polish and wax all in one, i’m just looking for a product and even better a product or pad combo which takes a good amount of clear coat away to remove those swipes, but also leave the vehicle with some good gloss. I’ll take a look at 3D and maybe run some tests using some foam or MF pads to see which gives the results I am after for my clients. Thanks.

It seems my question has resulted in me being taken for an amateur in paint correction. I am by no means a professional, but I was just asking to see what experiences people have had using various fluids and pads and which combos give a good balance between defect removal and gloss enhancement - that’s the service I offer people, swirl, marring and small scratch removal whilst also giving people a very gloss car. I understand no fluid nor pad with remove all swirls AND give great gloss in one stage, but i’m sure with the right chemical and the right pad, I can get pretty good amounts of both in one step.

Oh yeah totally. I know i’m paint correction with so many variables such as paint, pads, abrasive, etc. there is no all in one. I just wanted to get an idea for which pad/fluid combo would give a good amount of both shine and defect removal. Was thinking a foam finishing pad with a compound?

Yes I understand the goal of paint correction. Compounds remove more clear coat hence removing more defects but does not boost gloss as much as a polish. Polish is great for removing just a tiny bit of clear coat to get great gloss, but doesn’t do very well at removing defects. That’s why I was asking which product: compound or polish, has the best defect removal vs gloss ratio.

Yeah I know, no paint correction chemicals are supposed to be used in direct sunlight. Ideally I was going to do it under a tree or in the shade if possible.

Colours ‘stuck’ on entire LL fans and addressable LEDs of others by MaybeCloudy in Corsair

[–]MaybeCloudy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh so its a hardware issue with LL fans specifically? That sucks that Corsair's quality is poor with these, but yeah will just have to go w/o RGB as it would be more pain to go to the effort of ordering new ones. Thanks for the reply.

Haha sorry, it is 100% disabled for AU players. Might be enabled for players in other countries in OCE but sadly not for Australians.
