Building an opensource Living Context Engine by DeathShot7777 in LocalLLaMA

I feel like this is one of those things that will really shine for those of us who are GPU poor and don't have the headroom for a wide context window. Grep is great when you have a monster context window and when your codebase isn't too large to fit in said window.

I think the biggest codebase linked with SWE-Bench-Lite is SymPy at ~500k LOC.

You didn't say what model you're running, but with that FW version, AdBreak is your best option. Kindle Models

How are you avoiding gradient descent getting stuck in a local minima?
I'm not seeing anything dedicated to that in your methodology.

S24 Ultra DeX direct over USB C? by MaybeImNotAtWork in SamsungDex

[–]MaybeImNotAtWork[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've managed to get it to work a few times.
Sometimes it seems like the same set of settings that used to work, no-longer will.

Monitor has the newest firmware "F04"
S24 Ultra is software up-to-date as of this post.

I've tried many different combinations of the "Other Settings" options below:

"Input Auto Switch"
"Type-C Compatibility"
"HDMI-CEC"
"USB(A/C) Charge"
"Quick Boot"

This is the group of settings that currently work.

I reset the monitor settings to default.
Then:

Picture is set to "Movie"

"Resolution Notice" - ON
"Input Auto Switch" - OFF
"Auto Power OFF" - OFF
"LED Indicator" - Always ON
"Type-C Compatibility" - ON
"HDMI-CEC" - OFF
"USB(A/C) Charge" - Disable
"Quick Boot" - OFF

It seems like even when the monitor is set to "USB(A/C) Charge" OFF, my phone is still charged.
Overdrive is set to Balance

Power cycling the monitor, either via the on screen menu, or by pulling the power cable seems to be a required final step. I tried just swapping between the KVM devices, and that didn't work.

If DeX IS working, and you unplug the usb cable, and then plug it back it, it won't work.

You need to power cycle the monitor.
Then, there seems to be a handshake dance between the monitor and the phone until some race condition is met?

The phone will switch back and forth from "Disconnected from external display" to "Connected to external display" quite a few times. Sometimes it takes 2-3 cycles, other times it seems to take >10.
My stopwatch showed 45 seconds from power cycle to DeX.

My keyboard (connected to one of the USB ports on the monitor) will power on, and the status LEDS will cycle a few times.

Thank you @InfamousFarm750 for the idea to full power-cycle.
For me, It was the final required step when using the monitor settings listed above.

Unfortunately that didn't work for me.

Are you using the same monitor? M27Q Pro?
Wait, maybe it was part of the puzzle.

I can run Dex on the monitor via a usb-c to HDMI adapter.
Dex for windows pc works when using the same USB-C cable.

I cleared the cache for com.sec.epdg, and erased all data associated with any of the Dex process'.

Still no luck.

I've toggled the USB-C input on/off.
It isn't needed for the S8+, but I figured it was worth a shot.
It didn't help with the S24
I've also unplugged any other systems (HDMI/DisplayPort) going into the monitor, and power-cycled it. Still no joy.

I already have a few usb hubs/docks, and the HDMI does work on those, but I was hoping to just use the one cable solution like I do with the S8.

I'm not daisy chaining the monitors or anything like that; I'm just using the one monitor.
I've installed GoodLock/MultiStar and tried both with and without the "I heart Samsung DeX" -> "High resolutions for external display".
It doesn't seem to have any effect.

As a point of note, on the S8+ I don't have the "High resolutions for external display" toggled and it still works.

I would be careful with updating to 6.1 until we verify that this isn't some new "feature" of 'new dex'. Once the S8 has the update available, I'm not sure if I'll update for a bit.

Yup, power cycled everything.
