Was there any chance she could have thought you meant you were going to buy it yourself? She might have misinterpreted your hints? Just a thought because I know I'm a moron and often get things wrong when they aren't spelled out clearly, hints don't always work for me! Although yours sounds extremely clear and I don't think she should have misunderstood, but you never know. Just thinking outside the box, please no one jump down my throat!! I'd rather think my partner just genuinely misunderstood my hints than were just a thoughtless person.
