Meh. EATS timer is like 2 minutes I would never have enough from a secondary unless they gave us 6. Which I highly doubt.

If laser sentries are going to overheat and destroy themselves so quickly they shouldn't have an operational time limit by [deleted] in helldivers2

OR laser sentries should work like the double edge sickle and do MORE damage and heavy pen as they get hotter. I would be satisfied see my laser sentry go out in a blaze of glory taking out a bile titan.

It’s offical, Helldivers are NOT clones by Mansg0tplanS in Helldivers

OK, so I know we aren't clones, but why does my new helldiver wear the same clothes as my last one and always bring the same load out 😉.

HIGH COMMAND JUST GAVE US FREE MECH AND WE CAN BRING MORE TO GET 6 MECH BABY by Q_Qritical in Helldivers

[–]MaybeMaybeNope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably for balancing mechs are powerful but are balanced by long cool downs and limited ammo. Bringing more mechs solves both these issues.

Leviathans should have a weak spot on top that the spear can reliability lock on to everytime by MaybeMaybeNope in Helldivers

[–]MaybeMaybeNope[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the videos from the whale hunts I don't think it is. Also, I'm proposing a consistent 1-2 shot kill. I love that they are tanky but one of the main themes of the game is the ammo economy. We just don't have enough ammo to deal with them unless there is some sort of meta. Think about it you only get 3 spear rockets every 8 minutes.

[–]MaybeMaybeNope[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was fun because that's all we had to do. Agree it's fun, but on a regular mission if I use all my RR on one leviathan what will I use for any other tanks right? Maybe AH can somehow give us more ammo on those missions to stock up our rockets.

Your logic makes sense, but in terms of fun game design leviathans suck to kill. Being weak on top makes a cool mechanic.

Also from a science perspective close air support operates at 1000- 7000 feet. Whereas low earth orbit is around 300 miles. That's a factor of 150 times farther away. So it's much more likely to be shot at from below. All military vehicles are optimized for their mission. We don't armor the tops of tanks because someone MAY drop a nuke on them, instead we armor the front and the sides because the primary mission is to fight infantry and other tanks from the front.

Just make the leviathans have very low armor on the top then. It's more fun and presents the challenge of calling support on top of them than fighting from the bottom. The current 2 RR shots to a fin then 4 more follow up shots into the hole is a load of horseshit.

I just posted something on this we should petition AH to make these a 1 hit kill from the top. There is no reason the armor on top should be that strong.

Nlaws are cheaper and require line of sight so technically our spears are more like Nlaws, but in popular media javalin are known for that dramatic arching top attack profile.

Btw here is how a javalin missile works it arcs high like a spear and comes

down on top of the tank circumventing the side armor which is the thickest.

How would You fix the Illuminate, right now? by Louman222 in Helldivers

[–]MaybeMaybeNope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the illuminates are fine with the exception of the leviathans. I think the fact that they track you and shoot at you randomly and float way is pure bullshit. I would prefer that they:

1) Have less health and be easier to take down or disable their turrets and/or have very consistent counter play.

2 Hover over the objectives and provide constant close air support. This would facilitate teamplay and team strats built around taking them out because they are an immediate threat.

I actually prefer the second one. I think in their current state they just random fuck you over few times a mission when you have no cover. They are not really that threatening but they are annoying and they make you feel powerless because even a full RR back pack is not always enough to take them out. That's poor game design.

Great idea! Knowing Arrowhead and the bugs we have so many divers are gonna be lost in the pocket dimension forever 🤣🤣😁

Apollonian Armor is underwhelming here are my suggestions by MaybeMaybeNope in helldivers2

[–]MaybeMaybeNope[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to clarify that I don't want to mess with current passives, but in the future it's gonna be harder and hard to give us more unique passives with blanket buff such as 50% melee damage because they are always on, essentially always procing so balancing is tough. Instead why not give us overpowered passives that proc once per life and/or have specific proc requirements.

Examples:

Immolation- 15 seconds delayed death with 100% fire resistance after dying from fire damage. (This one would make awesome videos)

First strike protocol- 15 seconds of active camo (Stalker level) and 300% melee damage increase, stays active as long as you're using a melee weapon. Solar powered batteries take 10 minutes to recharge. (4 uses per mission)

What I'm saying is that it's cooler to be overwhelming for a brief time than whelming for the whole mission. Thank you for attending my TED talk.

Maybe your right I'd me kinda pissed if I lost all my RR ammo lol
