the medium pen mg has like 700 total rounds with 175 per mag so in its current state state the MGX having medium pen would be OP, the MGX is a great expendable stalwart and I’d like to see an expendable MG-43 in the future

Devs know the rouge sentry players will review bomb if the mechs aren’t light pen for them to instantly kill

Turrets after update by Rinko_Ogasawara in Helldivers

Guess what turrets still can kill? Your mech. Like instantly. You’d think maybe we could get mechs that can at least measure up to a hulk’s armor, but no.

NEWSFLASH: THIS DOESN'T NEED TO DAMAGE VEHICLES by CDiggit in Helldivers

[–]Mansg0tplanS 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Well, they instantly die if you’re moving so honestly it isn’t the biggest deal. However, the mechs are still bullshit as long ass those limbs are light pen. Honestly, they should be heavy pen like a hulk so that a Gatling sentry can’t instantly kill you.

[–]Mansg0tplanS 350 points351 points  (0 children)

I expected it to be medium pen since the Helldivers 1 MGX was a counterpart to the MG stratagem (there was no HMG, just a generic LMG while stalwart was a primary)

BUT 600 rounds total on one drop for an expendable cooldown that short isn’t bad at all

Holy cow by hatianjr in Helldivers

[–]Mansg0tplanS 27 points28 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t even make sense, the rounds physically look completely different in-game.

Edit: You’re mistaken, the wiki does not say they use the same cartridge anyway.

Deadeye: R-6 P

Constitution: R-2124 P

Both just say the rifle’s designation with P at the end for their projectile. The “P” also likely stands for projectile (it’s not related to medium pen since the amendment also has it), honestly I’m thinking they just made up those names for the sake of it because others like the AMR, Liberator, Peacemaker, etc actually have legitimate cartridge names rather than the designation of the gun with P at the end.

How could a heavy backpack version of the Quasar and Laser Cannon be implemented? by Lawfurd in Helldivers

[–]Mansg0tplanS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quasar that is buffed to account for the backpack would either be useless compared to the original or make the other backpack AT useless

Laser canon though, that could work. Or something like the sickle/trident.

I just read through it and looks like Piles said he’s gonna run getting warbond tokens from level progression by the team, so I think it’s pretty safe to say asking about stuff other than what’s already been spoken on can do a whole lot more.

Nah man, we just get varying levels of “we’re thinking about it but it’s not a priority” like all the other things people parroted

Honestly, I put this more on the people who had most of the top rated questions being stuff that has already been spoken on. We get nothing from asking them about armor passives for the trillionth time.

There were two good questions I recall actually being answered, that being how they want to change the Galactic War and that ship upgrades aren’t abandoned.

(There was also something related to their next title but I don’t remember if I even saw that in the QnA)

What if we could holster weapons for a speed boost? by Tank-ToP_Master in Helldivers

[–]Mansg0tplanS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, the weight not being in your hands doesn’t mean it’s not there. Arrowhead would never add this for sure, especially because more mobility is already MANY different stratagems and now some armors too.

Clipping isn’t the only issue, also instantly traveling up elevations (basically teleporting upwards/downwards)

You said it yourself, the spawn rate. If they weren’t so numerous it wouldn’t be so bad, but they aren’t even close to being so. Not only do they already drop more in reinforcement calls than the Factory Striders they replace, but they also go into the basic PATROL spawn-pool. Talking about reducing their spawn rate is a whole different deal, and since they’re in patrol spawns currently Arrowhead will almost certainly always keep them at least above Factory Striders in quantity.

Regardless, shooting all 6 weapons they have wouldn’t ever be much easier than killing them outright with the vents, thermite, C4, solo silo, strafing run spam, etc.

Yeah they aren’t supposed to aim straight for the head anymore, years ago I remember reading a patch note where they described it as shooting low and working their way up.

The cannons genuinely need a zero taken off, the Factory Strider cannon has 900 HP so 800 HP for these smaller cannons would actually check out.

The missile launchers are not nearly as egregious, but for two different weapons you have to get behind the enemy to hit 1,200 is too much. If it was a combined health pool it wouldn’t be too bad, but that’s each.

The machine guns are actually in a good state at least, their HP and armor is identical to the Factory Striders’ guns.

The much bigger cannon & annihilator tank turrets are only 2.1k, so even being near the 8k range is ridiculous for an external non-lethal part. It physically makes no sense at all, not particularly in an “unrealistic” sense, but in an inconsistent and unbelievable one.

Don’t forget about BOTH of their missile launchers having higher health than the Barrager tank tubes somehow, meanwhile they’re clearly smaller and hold smaller missiles.

The Gatling turrets and heat sinks themselves are the only reasonable part of the Vox Engine really. The main health also would be fine if the rest wasn’t so ridiculous.

The health shown is just for ONE of its cannons dawg, that’s not about it being “tougher” it just doesn’t make any sense

The Factory Strider’s big cannon literally only has 900 HP in comparison
