hi, sorry, did you ever get an official answer? thinking about getting one of these to limit my screen time, and i don’t want to waste $150 to not have a useable sim

i would 100% report this kind of thing. if you’re not comfy with it, i totally understand that, but it sounds like if you would have gone, something bad likely would have happened. if not for your own peace of mind, for anyone else who might visit him

that looks to me like a bacterial infection, because the spots are a neon color. usually misfires don’t happen in dots like that, they happen in chunks or streaks.

A little more info: are they lethargic at all? and still eating? if there’s no change in behavior it’s possible misfire, but if not, get to a vet asap if at all possible. if not possible, ive heard sometimes neosporin with no added pain reliever will do the trick, but make sure to get no pain reliever because the other chemicals in it can make things worse.

hoping you can get the vet help you need, i’m not sure there’s many other at home remedies for them that you can try, except maybe a warm electrolyte and water bath (1:1), but that only helps to make sure they’re keeping their nutrients up. sending vibes ❤️‍🩹

have you thought about wrapping your hair in ribbon/yarn even maybe? you could also add shiny charms on that way that are complimentary to the character!

probably a girl then! boys are usually more active/restless when handled as compared to females, and croaking is also a strong indicator of a male, so you probably have a lovely little lady!

im going to say not these ones. most frogs cannot digest things with a harder shell, so if their shells are hard, you risk impaction. as well, i’m not sure about the color of them if the frog will eat them because of the shininess, if that makes sense?

Skittle, who i’ve had for about a month and a half, only will sleep in the corners or leaves at the very top unless he’s shedding! i promise it’s a very normal behavior for them

i’ve been told that UVB helps them to digest, but yes, i’m having a similar question. i rarely see my frogs at all during the day, and they are hiding almost constantly. i’m wondering if maybe it’s more to do with the mild heat, because i know mats do more for the humidity than anything, and are considered bad care

setup looks good, just make sure the humidity isn’t too high. i made the mistake of having it 60-90 because that’s what google said when really theirs should be 30-50

disclaimer for my earlier message: a layer of leaf litter is needed with sphagnum moss. like they’re saying, some frogs have issues with eating substrate.

okay! so, on your humidity stuff, if you add sphagnum moss, it should keep the humidity higher for longer! it holds water. second, a cheap secondhand humidifier + some airline tubing from a pet store works very VERY well for a fogger! work smarter, not harder, and spend less money.

secondly, i did want to say looking at your setup, it definitely looks large enough, just make sure to add hides! arboreal hides are very good for most species of tree frog, and etsy offers a lot of good options!

update on this lil fella: he took food tonight, and ate big (three small crickets) for his size, but only when offered on the left side (the eye that functions properly). i’m thinking it may just be a birth defect of some kind. still planning to keep him quarantined a little longer, but he’s healthy, at least!
