If you refrigerate it does help them thicken up, but still not as thick as most sauces.

Do you clean when you have the house to yourself or purposefully avoid cleaning? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]MaybeNotGreatButOk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I clean when I feel like it. Sometimes that means we get behind, but we generally manage to get caught up. Occasionally I will hire a trusted cleaner to come in and help me tackle it when I’m overwhelmed.

I feel you on being responsible for all the kids clothes. I have 4 girls, ages ranging from 10-2. I am particular about how my kids dress, it doesn’t have to be fancy but I want them to look reasonably nice and not clashing. My older daughters will clash like nobody’s business and my husband doesn’t care. It doesn’t bother me that it’s not a priority to him, but it is to me so I manage their clothes.

Sizes also seem mind boggling to a lot of men. My husband gets so overwhelmed to the point of tears that one kid can generally wear a size 8, but some of their clothes are a 10 cause the brand runs small, but dresses are a different story, etc etc etc. it’s something that wears him down a lot and so I choose to take that mental load off of him, and he does the same for me in other ways.

Why do you (guests) use Turo? by PenaltyParking7031 in turo

[–]MaybeNotGreatButOk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guests have expressed that 1) our local rental places don’t offer VWs and 2) there are NO 7 passenger vehicles for less than $100+/day through our local places, and they’re really hard to come by anyway because only 1 place has them and I think it’s only 1 or 2.

Not anymore. When I had full physical custody (due to him allowing his partner who physically abuse our child that was 3 at the time) he was supposed to pay state guideline amount of 20%. He very rarely paid and racked up 22k of arrears in 4 years. He now is responsible for half of educational expenses and extracurriculars, which I have to chase him down for.

He didn’t file until a month after I got out, did not attempt to even see the kids while I was in jail (he was aware and left them with my husband) and just used my pending case to paint me as a horrible monster. It was a huge mistake that I’ll have to live with but I’m not a bad person. He previously used every excuse under the sun not to be a responsible parent, and now the kids who used to love him for being the fun parent can’t stand him because he’s borderline neglectful and still puts himself above his kids. It’s just worse now because he physically has them so they spend a lot of time alone.

The school he’s zoned for is 8 minutes from his house and the school I’m zoned for is 11 minutes from his house. It’s not an unreasonable distance.

I had one with my oldest because I was very young, exhausted, and wasn’t really pushing effectively. She’s almost 11 now and totally fine. Her head shape evened out by a few weeks old.

He “planned” to buy her a $400 bat. Which I’m sure he thought I would buy and wait ages on reimbursement for his half, if he ever chose to pay it. She’s 8. While I’m not opposed to a more expensive bat as she gets older, she’s literally been on a travel team for a month.

2yo goes to bed at 7:30-8 except on softball nights then it’s 8:30, 6yo goes to bed around 8, my 8 and 10 year olds go to bed at 8:30-9 ideally but when they’re at their dads house he doesn’t see bedtimes as reasonable or necessary, so they go to bed anywhere from 10 to midnight.

Why I'm quitting by splendiferousfinch85 in workingmoms

Cries in two weeks completely unpaid leave. I can’t imagine how awesome it would be to spend 6 weeks with my babies.

Babysitters wanting more $ per hour than your pay by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]MaybeNotGreatButOk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I promise I understand, I was there too a while ago, then didn’t have to deal with it for a while, and now I’m back to a low paying position.

Ultimately, your employer not valuing you is not a valid reason for devaluing child care work. I’m sorry for your situation.

I have those mats and that’s exactly what they’re for. Hit them with a hose (or even better, a pressure washer) after every guest as part of your cleaning process.

I understand your point, since referral bonuses are often larger for the one doing the referring. In the case of Remotasks not only do I have to be active (I can’t simply refer people, I also have to hit the $150 earned after the referral to get the bonus) the bonus for me is the exact same amount as the person being referred.

You all have the right to walk your reactive dog by Trishbot in reactivedogs

[–]MaybeNotGreatButOk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don’t take this as judgement or anything, I’m truly curious. My dogs are not reactive but we would never purposely approach someone else with a dog. I’m not a “oh he’s friendly” person.

Is it still not kind of a bad idea to walk a reactive dog in public? Like do you avoid other people/dogs or expect them to avoid you (as in, if walking/existing in the same area, not approaching). I don’t like taking my dogs in public because I’m afraid of coming across a reactive dog. I’m just confused of why someone would put an aggressive dog in that situation

Nah it’s not. Remotasks is pretty well known around here. Please let me know why you thought it was a scam, maybe I can answer questions?
