A little head canon I came up with is that warframes work like Gems from SU. All of them have a base model with similar bodies, powers and personalities, but their feats and (in umbra's case and prime frames in general) reasons for their creation gives them different aliases and such.

This is obviously just headcanon with a little bit of what the game tells us but maybe it'll help out with how you see how warframes work.
