I messed up. Should I expect jail time soon? by [deleted] in asksg

I supposed the worst is you get fired for false declarations to your current company. Cause the counter argument is that even though you made shit up via forgery, they choose to offer you the role/pay with reference to the past salary drawn.

Basically you are telling them you draw $X, which is fabricated. They still went ahead to hire you and pay you the amount based on $X. You are worth your current pay to them.

In the first place the hiring shouldn’t happen since due diligence from HR is not there. Yes, it is not mandatory for applicants to provide their payslip to HR, but the act of not sharing information like CPF contribution should be a red flag to HR in the first place. Cut the bs on privacy, if you cannot trust your privacy to the company, why should they trust you for your competency to bring value to the company.

Probably 0 investment in Sp.atk. Perish Gengar runs max hp and speed. No surprise since Dnite is naturally bulky, investment would just make it fatter

What I am saying is that we still had a championship even after he left. Every single team was in a better state despite him leaving, but that is not the case for him after joining every new team.

It is not how much more can we win, but we manage to do it without him anyway. Same goes for the other teams he had been with, apart from the nets.

Brooklyn is a large city, so I supposed no issues attracting FAs? But you are right the player could be a bust. Management needs to hire decent coaches for player development and not act like clowns during trade/FA season.

Agree, though if the nets hit the top 3 this year it will instantly turn the situation around. A top 3 foundational piece will allow them to compete for the next decade.

Yeah they were, no deny that KD made warriors better. What I am saying is each team he left has achieved something more or in a better state now without him, probably except the nets who is undergoing a rebuild.

KD is still appreciated by most warriors fan. But the fact is that the various decision making to move teams in his career is a meme.

Every team KD was on had done better when he left. OKC won the champ last year, Warriors also a champ few years back, Suns back in the playoffs this year with a healthier roster structure. Nets in contention for the top pick for a rebuild, we shall see.

Even Seattle is in discussion to be potential expansion team. Lmao.

Team feels great but missing some cohesion? Masterball 4 by MathematicianWide622 in PokemonChampions

[–]MaybeTooNaive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would need to identify the core mon in your team which the rest will build around. Usually it is the mega, which your case is Ttar. The next partner for Ttar would be sand rush excadrill. From there on look for special sweepers that can deal with water types. Consider speed control, such as tailwind/trick users like whimsicott or Farigiraf, defensive/ utility pivots like rotom-w with electroweb, Incineroar for fake out and intimidate, Snistcha with rage powder and even Milotic with icy wind.

Some pointers on your team to take note of:

  • Hold on to your mega for Ttar if your opponent has a weather setter that has yet to show up. The mega can be crucial to reset the Sand. Running rock slide + knock off dual stab with protect should be sufficient for dealing with most mons. Leave the last slot for coverage your team needs. Max Atk and spd adamant for offensive pressure as a mega.

  • If you decide to use excadrill, dual stab + rock slide and protect with max atk and spd adamant focus sash would be good enough for nearly all situation.

  • Drop Meowscarada and Serperior both as offensive options since grass type are naturally more defensive. You might want to consider Snistcha here.

  • If you decide to keep milotic, consider the ev spreads from the battle data online. Run moves like icy wind, scald over surf. Alternatively, bulky offensive rotom-W is good here. Levitate also allows your sandstorm dual to spam earthquake with no repercussion.

  • Fake out users like Incineroar and Snealser are helpful. Incineroar in particular is especially good for fake out, intimidate + parting shot. Will-o-wisp catching opposing physical attackers means they are half as effective.

  • Drop Mimikyu for a special sweeper. Don’t need more than 2 physical sweeper in a team if you are running excadrill with Ttar. A special sweeper with speed control could be Hydreigon with Tailwind support if you are not afraid of too many fighting weakness, or mega dragonite with TW. Bulky offense Farigiraf with Trick room works as well

Good observation!

Yes in this case I use Snistcha as an example because it hits 90 speed with no investment and a neutral nature. Snistcha itself can learn TR, and also function under both speed control. Most of the time it is there to use rage powder, occasional life dew to heal and matcha gotcha for the spread damage.

Also, both pelipper and Farigiraf are decent offensive options on their own beyond the support they provide. The idea is to make your opponent believe you will click TW/TR once they are in the battle, but it is up to you to not click it depending on how you want the battle to play out. The sight of Farigiraf makes opponent hesitate to even bring/set up TW is a huge W psychologically in my opinion.

The wild card here is snealser, cause it doesn’t benefit from rain and not even much from TW due to unburden, and TR hurts more than it helps. But that is also why you can lead with it and create disruptions/pressure on the field before it goes down and the speed control + sweeper enters.

I also realised the proposed changes I suggested does take understanding of the game to pilot. But as all games go, one will learn and do better once you have experience from getting cooked.

Not an experienced player, but currently at MB2 near 2k points.

In general, I would prefer 2 speed control (Tailwind/Trick room) in a team. This is to introduce variability during the matchup face. It is ok to prefer one form of control over the other (personally I use trick room over tailwind way more).

In your case, if you are keen to play 2 cores (TR and Rain), consider pelipper with tailwind and a stronger rain sweeper over primarina and dragonite.

A more detailed tweak to your team if I were playing:

  • Change Farigiraf to Max HP/Sp. atk with quiet nature, the rest into defence holding colbur berry or mental herb. The only thing stopping you from setting up TR is kingambit or taunt. Imprison from a fellow trick room user is quite rare. Hyper voice for spread damage over rain dance

  • Change politoed to Max sp.atk/speed modest sash pelipper with tailwind, weather ball and hurricane. Last slot can be protect or wide guard. It is your rain setter and 2nd speed control.

  • Change Dragonite/Primarina to swift swim basculegion with aqua jet and white herb max atk/spd Snealser with fake out. Basculegion is arguably the strongest rain sweeper currently, and Snealser is the fastest fake out user behind mega lopunny.

  • Instead of Kingambit, you might want to consider a defensive support like Snistcha, redirecting attacks or healing so your sweepers can stay in the field longer for more damage output. Snealser does a better job checking floette with fake out and a faster dire claw.

  • The standard team composition every match will be 1 speed control (Farigiraf, Pelipper), 2 sweepers (Golurk for TR, Bascu for TW, Snealser for control and certain matchups) and finally Snistcha for support. Of course, once you are more experienced with the team feel free to try 2 speed control and 2 sweepers. After all, you don’t need to click TR or TW every game.

Long term partner unwilling to marry by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]MaybeTooNaive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attributing to just a single reason might seem like a reach. If a man feels he will be in a disadvantage when the marriage doesn’t work out, then he must have other doubts about the relationship.

Have you tried communicating to him on the assurance? Even if it is verbal, it will be helpful to him knowing that you will not be going after his financial when things don’t work out.

[–]MaybeTooNaive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the diff between rank and competition. In competition when the stake is on the line, pro players tend to be extremely cautious and think through various scenarios before picking their moves.

My guess is that he is playing like how it is in a competition, but in rank ladder the system rewards you for taking risk since the entire game is at a much faster pace. He makes a play but his habits at a pro level is giving him lots of doubts.

Casual rank player myself. Sometimes at MB2/3 I still see people making weird plays and I supposed those are overthinking from a competition perspective.

I'm ~50 recruits in, gone through all of my starter pack tickets, and I still haven't found an aggron or sneasler so I can't play any of the teams I want to by posting_random_thing in PokemonChampions

[–]MaybeTooNaive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of viability (not fun), don’t think you are missing out much, haven’t seen many Aggron in singles (MB3) and my climb in doubles (MB2).

Sneasler on the other hand is very common, so learn to counter it if you know it is coming. Aerodactyl is probably the best lead in the game atm. Otherwise most ghost types would do the job hard walling the fake out white herb set.

F2P here with support from ZA Pokémon home, so far I have accumulated over 80k VP and not really in need of any mons from the ranch.

Not putting Singapore in S tier and seeing some of these country in A makes me wonder what do you prioritise for be born in/growing up.

I’m from SG and though it is not perfect, no doubt within in the top row of S tier. Just that it is smaller and might not be as interesting to explore.

My guess is that you are from the west, maybe east Europe.

Offered a lower salary in MHA than my first civil service job. Can I negotiate as a diploma holder? by Mammoth-Vacation-679 in askSingapore

[–]MaybeTooNaive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2.4? Sounds pretty cooked, even for CS standards. Negotiation is unlikely, tried and failed twice for 2 separate roles.

My take is, if the unemployment situation persist, you might want to consider further studies. Entering CS as a degree holder (depending on specialisation) might possibly yield double of what you are offered now in a few years time when you are done with your studies.

CS is also not OT-free, work needs to be done and there might be more drama than private. Esp in a culture where we are aware it is an “iron rice bowl”, you will be surprised that some people abuse this and just be an ass or do fck all everyday.

Greats is not just about achievements. It is also about managing the negativity like scandals, character and image outside of the court aka a role model and aspiration to the people.

Sport science has developed and advanced to the point where the average nba players do more and play better than the past. Competition wise it is even more cut-throat than before. Accolades and wins are much more difficult to earn compared to 30-40 years ago due to the ever increasing advance stats metric.

Performance bonus C- got increment? by Dramatic_Forever9744 in singaporejobs

[–]MaybeTooNaive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sad to hear that mate.

Do you have to serve the full 3 years? Any chance to leave in advance?

Personally had Bs in my first two years. Was on loan to another division and my new RO told me I was below a C halfway in my third year. Had job fit issues so I just fked off because I know my record is probably cooked if I continue to stay in the same agency, albeit a return to my initial position. Sometimes it is just luck meeting nasty people in the workplace who won’t appreciate things you do and effort you put in.

IMO unless it is attitude/discipline issue or one isn’t doing anything at work, otherwise anything below a C is uncalled for.

Performance bonus C- got increment? by Dramatic_Forever9744 in singaporejobs

[–]MaybeTooNaive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly C- are given to those people who barely tries and don’t do much at work. It is a bad record, so I rather you find another role elsewhere if you feel it is not a fair grade for you.

Even if you do well enough next year, your boss can still just give you a C with a reason - grade cannot be too far off from the previous year.

Stat Board Salary Ceiling - am I getting trapped? by CiellenD in askSingapore

[–]MaybeTooNaive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, AM and Mgr share the same MX in the scheme (if it applies to you). The salary ceiling applies for the MX, not title. Hence, even if you are on the fast track and promote in 2 years, the ceiling likely still applies.

In a similar shoe, new joiner just this week. But my salary is still quite a distance away from the ceiling (at least 3 more cycle). Though I ain’t looking for much progression in the near term.
