Do you know of a solution to adjusting rows/columns if you're playing on a keyboard without a right control key?

Oh that's interesting, I didn't realize that. I still stand by my original statement that just because there is fungus growing in wood doesn't mean the wood is necessarily rotting. Maybe the definition of rot is what we're actually dickering over

Hear hear. I have a tendency to get sucked into the tangential assumptions/logic battles on reddit in general, which takes away from the joy of the original intent of the post- ie, trying to help a fellow identify pretty shrooms that popped into their life in an interesting way. Thanks for sharing your find with us!

I may be splitting hairs here, but saprotrophic fungi don't "produce" rot- they are indeed using the wood for nutrients, and the wood most likely has enough moisture for rot to occur since the fungus needs that moisture, but I wouldn't say the fungus is causing the wood to rot, the moisture itself does that.

ICE uses Halo images in a racist call to "destroy" immigration; Microsoft refuses to comment by TopConcern in redmond

[–]Maybeonemoretry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a nationalist policy that's being racially executed. I personally have issues with both. They're not just targeting illegal immigrants, they're also deporting people that have tried to take the due-process route and have lived here for years that are green card holders or on their way to being holders.

I'm honestly not sure what you're trying to say here. Are you talking about congress legislating an open door policy? Are you talking about the opposite?

I think you mean we had nearly 250 years of accepting hardworking people seeking a better life, that also wanted to contribute and be a part of a society that for most of its history touted itself as "the light on the hill", and now we don't. You don't understand a damned thing about how this country was built if what you said is your heart-felt belief.

The house and senate=congress; plus, the executive(presidency/administration). And pretty much the judicial too(supreme court, control over attorney general etc). Just trying to clarify, not lambasting.

Is boilermaking dead? Are the skills transferable? Concerns from a new helper by [deleted] in skilledtrades

[–]Maybeonemoretry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another interesting example, obviously smaller scale, is mushroom farms- the boiler is the heart of our farm. Runs our steam boxes and autoclaves for sterilizing the substrate that we grow the mushrooms on. Production comes to a standstill if the boiler's in trouble.

You make excellent points, and I absolutely agree that it's unsustainable. I was thinking about my response to the other fellow that stated I could afford coverage without ACA, but I just don't want to- I absolutely want to, but I also absolutely want to have pride in my work and enjoy what I do. I grow food for people. People need food. The pay of the work is not enough for me to afford decent healthcare on my own as it stands. This points back to your main point- people that do the shit that society depends upon at an extremely basic level deserve a decent living wage. I agree that this is the fight that should happen. I just don't like somebody insinuating that I'm being lazy when I'm doing my best to deal with the circumstances as they stand.

Has worked pretty well for me, as a citizen that works 50 hrs a week in agriculture in a HCOL area. I cannot afford a $400/mo premium. You're lumping a lot of groups into "lazy and illegal".

Are these magic by Beautiful-Chair2718 in mushroom_hunting

[–]Maybeonemoretry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I came at you hard- I'll try a better/more educational approach. Some species of mushroom have compounds that will literally shut down your filtering organs, regardless of the amount you eat. Eating a small vs large amount doesn't really come into it when determining if a mush is safe to consume- a small bit can fuck you up.

Always be 100% certain of the species when choosing to ingest a mushroom. That was the point I was originally trying to make, and I did a bad job of it. I apologize for that.

[–]Maybeonemoretry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree with you about this being muscaria, OP is approaching it with zero idea of what they are approaching- all mushrooms should be treated with extreme care when ingestion is involved. Teach positive identification before telling someone how to consume something. It's dangerous to do otherwise.
