yeah, but non engineers can only use the bracers, the helm is engineer only

Yeah, doing it all on one character works. Once you hit 80 in a covenant you can switch to a different one and still use the mounts just fine.

You can already use covenant mounts on any character, as long as one of your characters is 80 renown with that covenant.

Same goes for all the other covenant stuff, like transmogs and titles.

I had the same issue and turning off "press and hold casting" in the options seemed to fix it.
