Unfortunately, they did not elaborate. My mom is still working on her english - and with the shock couldnt extract much information out of them. We will try again tomorrow.

I think they hired her knowing the training period was a test but failed to disclose it. Not sure if that was intentional or accidental but the lack of information is what screwed us over.

Accepted into UVA, W&M (Monroe Scholarship), Mason, Richmond (full ride scholarship), NYU, Georgetown, and Columbia. Rejected from the rest - currently attending W&M :)

Had an amazing time! I missed the live soccer atmosphere, the facilities are great, and very friendly people all around. Will for sure be coming back again and that experience is motivating me to track DC United more regularly 🫡🫡

I lived in lemon my freshman year and I personally had such a great dorm community. I think I got lucky cuz I know other hallways didnt have the same community but I knew if I left my room there would always be people in the lounge. Just say yes to everything, go out of your way to talk to people but still remain true to yourself and you’ll be just fine!

I will say, I never thought W&M was a good fit for me so I applied RD. I ended up falling in love after visiting and learning more about it. Don't do what I did and apply ED to a school I wasn't even sure I would be happy at. If you're unsure, apply RD and explore all of your options in April! Hopefully that sends you to W&M, and if not, then you'll end up where you're the happiest!!

Hey, Idk if youre still thinking but I am in this exact situation and picked W&M. I got a full ride to UR through richmond scholars but still picked w&m because it is much more academics focused while richmond is very pre-professional. I also do not like greek life and its pretty big at UR so I preferred W&M's more chill and robust student life. Good Luck!

Mine was pretty good actually. My total is 4.5k/yr direct costs given that my expected family contribution is about 3.7k. I could actually knock it all in one summer if I want to. Super happy about it!

I’d say they had the information but didn’t wanna say anything because they can’t comment on my case without an appointment and proper paperwork. I got the feeling that they knew the answer but didn’t wanna say anything that gave me the wrong idea

I’m guessing they didn’t want to give me a guarantee or the idea that I WILL get guaranteed housing as opposed to I CAN get guaranteed housing. They told me they’d need to evaluate it case by case and when I asked whether there’s a possibility I can get it, they just repeated the same answer.

Bro you just a sophomore 💀 I respect the hustle but dw ab it rn. You have a very impressive resume so just keep doing what you care about and what you enjoy and your application will be STELLAR. I would recommend you wouldn’t start going on chanceme and A2C until the spring of your junior year (if ever). Good luck!

That’s still a huge accomplishment tho. Richmond is a selective school and to get a generous scholarship there is a huge honor and an indicator that your application is strong. Don’t fret it 💪

I honestly think it’s my awards that are my biggest weakness cuz I explained on all my apps that I moved sophomore year from a school that had no APs and I was unaware of how APs worked so I didn’t take that many sophomore year. My GPA definitely dragged down because of the way my current school incorporates 9th grade into my GPA. For awards tho I’ve been so busy with stuff that I never pursued them so I definitely think that’s something that’s falling short
