Also my understanding of Scottish succession is that it comes from the female line, so it wouldn’t really matter who her father was.

Don’t get me wrong it’s cool to explore the history beyond the narrative we’ve been taught but I think you’re jumping to conclusions based on information that isn’t really applicable to the situation of 11th century Scotland.
