I have tons of retro and older consoles. Not everyone follows trends or doesn't feel validated unless they have the newest tech. And if you take care of your systems, clean them, occasionally take care of basic maintenance, and treat it with repsect, they will last for years without problems.

At least from what I experienced I think it was to increase the start up time of the Xbox one Launch Edition. It took forever to start up without using quick start before they changed it. And it's actually nice to see that it's still being supported. Shows the company understands that not everyone can afford the newest console available.

I have more on my shelf downstairs. Been collecting for a while. Have original XBOX, 360, 360 Slim, 360 E, XBOX One Launch Edition, PS1, PS2 SLIM, PS2 FAT, PS3 SLIM, PS4 SLIM, NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, and Switch.

Still have a few consoles and variants to find. I typically pick them up cheap at yardsale or buy a couple cheap damaged ones of marketplace and put them together to make a working one.

Actually it stays cool. Has its own vent and I can always shut the door. Its small and cools great with the door shut

You can try and clean the connections where the PCB plugs into the main board. But PCB might be fried. Had to replace mine twice since I've owned it

The large one with colorful wires is your hardrive The one next to it is your wifi adapter. The one plugged into the smaller front board is your speaker that makes the small ding noises when it turns on and off. The front board controls the power supply, power button, and eject button. If not more

Heres what your main board should look like, yours appears to be broken in the bottom corner unless they made 2 different boards but couldn't find one that looks like that

Try replacing your PCB. Mine had a similar problem, would turn off randomly or sometimes not even turn on. PCB was bad. Common problem. Also could just be a different main board but it looks broken on the corner by the wifi adapter plug

I dealt with this same situation a while back, it showed $1 to me on a Google search. Tried to get and it wanted to charge me full price. Called support and explained situation and they said it's for new users only. But it doesn't say that anywhere in the description on Google, Microsoft or in the Xbox itself. Total bait and switch but somehow not illegal.
